Christmas Songs for December 23, 2022

Regardless of when Jesus was actually born, it’s a good thing to celebrate the birth of Jesus!  Christmas is a great time to praise, worship and give honor to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ – the Savior of the world!

Pastor Dewey Moede and I agreed that sharing a mixture of modern and traditional Christmas songs is in order for this season!  So, from December 14, 2022 through Christmas Day, I’ll post articles with videos or audio-videos of some great and worshipful Christmas-themed songs.

For Day 10, here is a special treat from the US Army Band (Pershing’s Own)!  As a former USAF musician, it brings me joy to see our military men and women performing with such incredible talent and excitement.  I hope you enjoy and maybe even sing along with the US Army Band’s rendition of Go Tell It On The Mountain!

Here are the lyrics:

CHORUS
Go, tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is born

VERSE 1
While shepherds kept their watching
O’er silent flocks by night
Behold, throughout the heavens
There shone a holy light

VERSE 2
The shepherds feared and trembled
When lo! above the earth
Rang out the angel chorus
That hailed our Savior‘s birth

VERSE 3
Down in a lowly manger
The humble Christ was born
And God sent us salvation
That blessed Christmas morn

God bless you all!  Hopefully you’ll come back to FGGAM’s website tomorrow and join me for some new Christmas music on Day 11.  Tomorrow is Christmas Eve!
