I am so very, very thankful for all of our Vietnam War Veterans! They were treated so badly when they returned home. Yesterday I met a wonderful man who served in Vietnam. I was officiating the funeral for his baby granddaughter. I hugged this man, he cried when I told I am so sorry for the passing of his granddaughter and I also told him him thank you for your service. I apologized for those American people who did not show him respect and his fellow soldiers, when they returned home. He cried more, we hugged again. I told him you have a lot of that war in your head forever don’t you!!!! He cried more, yes, that war was hell on earth. I lost a good friend in that war, Roger Carey of Windom, Minnesota. I even wonder how many Americans know the truth about the Vietnam War, they were never given the authority to win that war! The Vietnam War Extract Data File of the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) Extract Files contains records of 58,220 U.S. military fatal casualties of the War. So many Vietnam Veterans are homeless! Of 10,524 homeless veterans assessed in a 43-site VA program, 50 percent served during the Vietnam War era, compared to only 29 percent of all veterans in the general population. A disgrace!!!!! So many have died of Agent Orange

From FAITHWIRE:

A Vietnam veteran who died without any known friends or family was treated to a hero’s funeral this week, with strangers stepping up to the plate to make sure he was properly honored.

Glenn Emerson Cook, 70, who was laid to rest Tuesday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, was an Army veteran had no known loved ones, but that didn’t stop dozens from showing up to celebrate him. Story Here

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another:
just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

By this all people will know that you are my disciples,
if you have love for one another.
John 13:34-35
