Let us all be in prayer for all the families and friends that have been devastated by this accident that killed 4 people. Let us all love, all people more than ever. The love of Jesus be with you all.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another:
just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
By this all people will know that you are my disciples,
if you have love for one another.
I was deeply sadden by this news. I lived and worked in radio in South Bend/Elkhart, Indiana in the 80’s and 90’s. I know the road that the Congresswoman was killed on, I drove on it many, many times, State Road 19 between Nappanee and Wakarusa. Zachery Potts and Emma Thomson were in the vehicle with Walorski and also died, as did the driver of the other car. I watched one of the reports of this tragedy on South Bend TV and read the tributes on the life of Jackie Walorski. She was loved by so very many, she was respected and loved by both sides of the aisle. Jackie and her husband, Dean were Christians and served the Lord as missionaries at one time. Dean is a music teacher in the Mishawaka schools. Jackie at one time also worked as a news reporter.
To find someone who worked so hard for her area, loved and respected by so very many, and could work with both sides of the aisle, is a rarity in America. This is a huge loss for us all.
AOL news reports:
Rep. Jackie Walorski, R-Ind., was among four victims of a car crash Wednesday afternoon in northern Indiana.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., issued a statement confirming the death, writing, “Dean Swihart, Jackie’s husband, was just informed by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s office that Jackie was killed in a car accident this afternoon. She has returned home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We have no further comment at this time.”
