Pastor Matt Chandler: The Church’s Post-Roe Moment Is Bigger Than Legislation! HOLD THE POM-POMS!

SPOT ON! I have said for weeks now, we need MATURE CHRISTIANS! Way too many Christians think all their immature tweets and comments will make a difference! FOOLISH!  I pray for mature Christians, that will build bridges of love and trust with folks. I also see this in politics, Christians posting ugly things, all they are doing is preaching too their own group and not gaining ground for the Kingdom of God, just adding fuel to the fire of hate. Your just showing the other side what they want to see. How are we ever going to have peace without bringing all sides to the table? We are a divided nation, and it is only getting worse. You can stick with God and not show ugly! Show the world JESUS! Carry out The Great Commission, get off social media and walk and drive the roads of your community, reach the lost. Stop preaching to the choir so much! I beleive the greatest failure of the American Church is that it has failed now for years to carry out the command from Jesus to fulfill The Great Commission! So many churches are not baptizing folks, and then raising them up to be mature Christians! Jesus is the peacemaker for the world, not your politics! You have got to be blind if you do not see the Country and the Church self-destructing. The American Church continues to slide in membership and around 240 South Korean missionaries came to America in June to try and AWAKEN US!

John Stott:

A Call To Christian Maturity, and my text is Colossians, Paul’s letter to the Colossians, Chapter 1, verses 28 and 29. I hope by the end of this morning you will have learnt it by heart. It’s a magnificent Word of Scripture.

Colossians 1:28-29. Here it is. “We proclaim Christ, warning everybody and teaching everybody in all wisdom, that we may present everybody mature in Christ.” And let me read it again or recite it again because I know it by heart as I hope you will do soon. “We proclaim Christ, warning everybody and teaching everybody in all wisdom, in order that we may present everybody mature in Christ.” A Call to Christian Maturity

Thank you Stephanie Martin of CHURCHLEADERS for this excellent message!

Matt Chandler: ‘Tweeting or Posturing’ Won’t Help

In a June 26 sermon titled “A Sober Celebration of Life,” Pastor Matt Chandler challenged Christians to “step up” and push back darkness in a “brutally difficult” world. Chandler, pastor of The Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas, gave that call to action two days after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Chandler, who heads the church-planting organization Acts 29, prefaced the message by saying he celebrated Roe’s reversal but “did so with a great deal of sobriety.” He tells congregants, “Before you wave those pom-poms, you’d better understand what’s at stake and the moment that we’re in.” The pastor warns, “This had better not be about legislation; this better be bigger than that for us as the church.”
