When Sorry Doesn’t Cover It…

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. I woke up early this morning thinking about a recent meeting I attended on Bending Time. Dan McCollam prayed over authors in the room and the very next morning, I had the introduction for my next devotional that I hope to soon publish. I must admit, it is a bit overdue but has been in the process for some time. It is based on my writing Blueberry Pancakes and Forgiveness.

As I sat at breakfast recently, at a conference I attended in another state, the lady began to talk with me about something she forgave. I listened as shared her story briefly. She forgave her offender, and she reached a new level of freedom. Her forgiveness didn’t make what was done right, but it made her free.

Forgiveness doesn’t always mean the relationship will be restored. God did not create people in his image to be door mats. He created us in his image to fulfill our God given destinies. We were all created to soar, we all have a God given destiny.

This beautiful woman opened her own cage and let herself out. She was ready to fly higher in her new level of freedom by offering forgiveness.

Sometimes forgiveness is a letter you never mail, sometimes it is addressed head on and other times it is a simple prayer between you and your Heavenly Father. It will look different as every situation is different. Sometimes, you need to forgive yourself. No one is perfect and if you think you are, well hold on a bit longer until you discover who you really are.

Please get help today if you need it. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask. Pray and ask God to lead you to that safe place, safe person and let the healing begin. Amen? Amen.

Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you today for forgiveness. Your grace and mercy cover us. Today, for everyone across this globe that is struggling to forgive their offender, we pray you give them the grace to release it, in their time.

Father, we pray for restoration when there can be, but most of all we pray for safety, hope and healing for all your people. Amen.

Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. You are loved beyond measure.

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace. (Ephesians 1:7)
