Pastor Nate Bush of New City Church in Albuquerque:
I buried a middle school student murdered at school earlier this year. I am emotionally exhausted by the news of yet another school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX.
No parent should have to experience losing a child at school. I am sad and angry that this has happened yet again. This week I have been studying what made Jesus sad and angry. Tonight, I am talking to Jesus about my sadness and anger.
I want Jesus’ empathy as I pray tonight. The violence saddens Jesus. He is angry at the injustice. He cares for the victims. He died as a victim of injustice. But Jesus rose from the grave, conquered the violence, and overcame the injustice. Lord Jesus, come quickly. Jesus, bring your peace.
