Hello Everyone,
Last night the calls began to pour in and everyone was rejoicing with the news of the “Leak” about Roe vs. Wade being overturned.
While this is a great victory for all of us in the Pro-Life movement I ask, What does this mean to us in New Mexico?
It means our work has just begun. Actually, when Texas passed their heartbeat law, abortions have taken an exponential leap in our state. The parking lots at the abortion clinics are packed with cars with out-of-state plates coming to our state for their abortions.
This all became possible when our state Legislators (not all) voted to strike our 1969 law from the books. It was the only thing that offered protection for women and their babies from abortion. This was the progressive left’s pre-emptive strike to keep abortion legal in our state.
This year we will need to fill our Legislature, our Senate, and our Governor’s office with people who will fight for life. We must support every Pro-Life organization we can so when abortion ends in our state we can be ready to support the moms and dads facing an unplanned pregnancies. It is going to take all of us to get this done.
Thank you for all you do for the cause of LIFE.
My Favorite Right is Life!
God bless,
Ethel Maharg
Executive Director

From The Christian Post: A draft majority opinion leaked to Politico shows the United States Supreme Court is poised to overturn the controversial 1973 decision Roe v. Wade, causing shockwaves across the country. On Monday evening, Politico published a report noting that a draft opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito in February for the case Dobbs v. Jackson had the high court overturning Roe by a vote of 5-4. The news organization noted that the first draft does not mean the decision will be overturned, as justices are known to “change their votes as draft opinions circulate and major decisions can be subject to multiple drafts and vote-trading, sometimes until just days before a decision is unveiled.” Nonetheless, reactions around the country were varied and almost immediate. Click here to read five such reactions to this leaked report from organizations ranging from the National Right to Life to Planned Parenthood.
