Nobody ever outgrows Scripture; the book widens and deepens with our years. From John Wesley

“The United States Forest Service’s decision to proceed with a controlled burn knowing the conditions were incredibly dangerous shows a reckless disregard for the safety of New Mexicans and their homes,” said NM House Republican Leader Jim Townsend, pictured.

We got this news release late yesterday from the New Mexico GOP. I agree with Leader Jim Townsend! We need more leaders like Mr. Townsend! There have been to many controlled burns in this state that have turned into a disaster. I still shake my head at the Los Alamos fire! Cerro Grande Fire. Those who order these controlled burns that turn into hell on earth need to go to jail for 30 days, law and order needs to be restored in this country, pay restitution and apologize in person to all the families that have lost everything! The Governor has failed the people of New Mexico in not stepping up and holding the Forest Service accountable. What ever happened to putting people first? What ever happened to true servanthood? Whatever happened to accountability? Jim Townsend is a true leader! We are in very bad shape here in New Mexico, in so very many ways. New Mexico needs to repent of all the evil things that are taking place like abortion, children being murdered, child abuse and child hunger, but now we have legalized pot. Horrible! New Mexico is not a godly place for children.

New Mexico REPENT of your sins! Seek the face of JESUS! End abortion! It looks like right now it is going be a very hot and dry summer. UPDATE! Fire crews prepare for high winds in Calf Canyon and Hermits Peak fire area

GOP Leader Townsend blasts MLG and Forest Service for reckless disregard for safety of New Mexicans

Santa Fe – House Republican Floor Leader Jim Townsend (Artesia) today issued a statement condemning U.S. Forest Service and Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham for their handling of the Hermits Peak Fire.

Rep. Townsend is denouncing a decision by the United Forest Service to proceed with a controlled burn in unsafe weather conditions, which led to devastation in northern New Mexico.

“The United States Forest Service’s decision to proceed with a controlled burn knowing the conditions were incredibly dangerous shows a reckless disregard for the safety of New Mexicans and their homes,” said House Republican Leader Jim Townsend (R-Artesia). “The US Forest Service must be held accountable for their actions. I think New Mexicans need accountability from the Governor to understand why her administration is not aggressively calling on the Forest Service to explain why so many controlled burns were not postponed due to the heavy winds and dry weather across the state. I applaud our fire fighters and emergency responders, and city leaders for taking the lead and keeping New Mexicans safe and I hope that the emergency orders issued last week will provide them with ample support to provide relief to their communities.”

Leader Townsend is calling for transparency and accountability from the US Forest Service for the damage that was caused as a result of its own negligence. Rep. Townsend continued“It has become increasingly clear that the federal government has been operating in an unsafe manner when it comes to forest management. New Mexicans need to be able to trust that the federal government has their safety in mind and that the reckless actions taken by USFS do not go unanswered in this latest incident.”

Rep. Townsend concluded“The entire Republican caucus shares great concern for the many families that have lost their homes or property, and livestock in the destructive path of these fires. We are ready to help in any way we can, and New Mexicans can call on any Republican lawmaker to advocate for them or provide resources as they move forward.”

Let us pray!

From Pastor Mark Grothe:

Father, in Your Word you have said,

When I close the sky so that there is no rain, or command the locusts to destroy the land, or send sicknesses to my people and if my people who are called by my name become humble and pray, and look for me, and turn away from their evil ways, then I will hear them from heaven. I will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now, my eyes are open, and my ears will pay attention to the prayers prayed in this place.” 2 Chronicles 7:13-15 ERV

We, Your People, in New Mexico, are coming to You and are seeking You. We are asking for Your Forgiveness for the things we have allowed or are involved in, like, late term abortion, gambling, drunkenness, legalized marijuana, debauchery, and many other things. We are not just asking for Forgiveness but for Your Help to turn from these things and the Strength to continue to not partake if there things or even to appear that we are ok with them. Help us to be more and more of The People of God that You would want us to be.

We are asking for Your Help for us to be Humble. Our Hope is that in doing so, we can lead others to do what is right. That in doing so, we can be The True Models of Your Love to others. That in doing so, we can help others in their times of crisis that they wouldn’t turn to things that keep them separate from You.

We are looking for You to do a Mighty Work of God in our hearts, lives, State and land. We are hoping for a Great Awakening of The Hearts of Your People. Our hope is that in this Great Awakening, not only would we be changed, but that it would cause a change in others around us that would bring a change everywhere.

Father, we really do want to turn from our evil ways. We know that they don’t bring You Glory. We know that they keep us from You.

Your Word also tells us,

“I write this letter to you who believe in the Son of God. I write so that you will know that you have eternal life now. We can come to God with no doubts. This means that when we ask God for things (and those things agree with what God wants for us), God cares about what we say. He listens to us every time we ask him. So we know that he gives us whatever we ask from him.” 1 John 5:13-15 ERV

As we come to You, our hope is that You would bring rains to us here in New Mexico. We have been in this drought for a long time. Our lands have become dry and have allowed for fires to kindle in multiple areas. These fires have caused many to flee from their homes and have caused lots of damage. We are asking for rains to not only bring us an abundance of water that we need but also to help aid in extinguishing these fires.

Father, we are asking You to watch over the families that are in the midst of these fires. We are also asking for You to protect those who are fighting these fires. Please, bring Your Protecting Hand over them and keep them covered from suffering loss and injury.

We are also asking You to Watch over our Law Enforcement Officers as it is getting tougher and tougher for them to do their jobs. Please Aid them to have the right discernment to do what is right. Please Protect them  from the stresses they deal with in every situation they are in.

We are asking You to Aid our first responders when they go out to provide any medical aid that may be required. Please Help them to provide the care for those whom they are helping

And lastly, we lift our leaders here up to You. We are asking You to Help them to Know You as they do the jobs they were elected for. Please Guide them to make the right decisions that would bring our State back in line with You and to become one that sets examples for others.

We thank You for all that You have done for us, all that You do for us, and all that You will do for us.

In Jesus Name, Amen

Let’s keep praying and seeking for Him

FGGAM Shares a Biblical Worldview Everyday:

“The Biblical worldview says there is a God—One who is personal, powerful and caring—who created the world and everything in it. It states unequivocally that man is created in God’s image, living in essence as God’s co-regent over creation. Mankind—born and unborn, rich and poor, able and disabled—has intrinsic worth. Almighty God is a sovereign God, ruler over nations, states, empires, and governments. He is to be worshiped and obeyed through the precepts and principles revealed in His infallible Word. He not only exists, but He is sovereign over all of history according to His wisdom and purposes, and He is intimately involved in every aspect of life.”
