National Day of Prayer

Next week, Thursday, May 5th, is National Day of Prayer.    Who could not see that America needs much prayer?

Of course, we pray for our homeland more than just the one day designated, but something happens when the believing masses fall on their knees in repentant humility before our Holy God.

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

I have had hands-on experiences with the National Day of Prayer (NDP) since 1989, when pastor of FBC Tehachapi, California.   I have been co-chairman of community committees working and planning with churches and pastors for the local NDP.    I, and my churches, have hosted other churches in community in joint prayer experiences for the NDP, and they have been great joys, and built excellent relationships with churches and community.

This year may have many challenges, but they do not have to mean less purposed and unified prayer among God’s established and ordained churches.

However, and wherever, you spend the NDP this year; let’s make it one that history will record as most remarkable because of the activities of God as a result of our humble pleas.   God bless you! —Jerry for Revival!   Pray On!
