When I hear about teachers in New Mexico that have to live with their parents…or cannot afford a washer and dryer it gets my dander up! Horrible! By the way when are we going to see any action on CRIME!!!! When are we going to see an overhaul of the Judicial system? When are the laws in the state going to have the backs of our Law Enforcement heroes????  When are we going to see CYFD tore down and rebuilt, I read that there is legislation asking for a separate department to oversee CYFD???????!!!!!!!!! WHY!!!!!!!!!! Bill would create independent office to field complaints against CYFD More bureaucracy on top of bureaucracy!!!!!!! You got to be kidding me!!!!!! Come on now!!!!!!! CYFD in New Mexico is a political rat hole! Tear it down, start over before more children are killed! DO NOT ADD ANOTHER DEPARTMENT OR OFFICE TO OVERSEE IT!!!!!!!!! COME ON! TEAR IT DOWN!!! IT STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN!
The Governor is not leading to get these issues addressed! A lot of ‘nothing noise,’ I love what Adrian Rogers once stated: “I’m not dependent upon eloquence, logic, or personal magnetism. All is in vain unless the Spirit of the Holy One comes down.”
A lot of talk….little action at ther Roundhouse! Abortion???? Budget surplus!!! Tax Rebate for the people of New Mexico? help me out! I am concerned that the people’s business is not be done once again! Its crazy to think a 30 day session, even a 60 day session is working out for the people of this state! I beleive this needs to be revamped.
Teachers across the country feel exhausted, overwhelmed, disrespected and unloved, leaving more than half considering leaving the profession sooner than they planned. The nation’s largest teachers union polled its members and found a whopping 90% say that burnout is a serious problem.

“Glory’s Law” Clears First Hurdle
SB158, sponsored by Senator Craig Brandt, would prohibit discrimination against transplant recipient based on physical or mental disability

SANTA FE – Todaythe Senate Judiciary Committee passed “Glory’s Law” with a unanimous vote of approval. Senate Bill 158, sponsored by Senate Republican Whip, Senator Craig Brandt (District 40-Sandoval), would ban discrimination against a transplant recipient based solely on a physical or mental disability. The legislation is named after a local child, Glory Sellers, who has down syndrome and a heart defect.

Senator Brandt issued the following statement after the Committee’s endorsement of the bill:

“If this bill saves even one life, it will be worth all the time and hard work we have put into it. Glory’s Law has far greater implications than receiving medical transplants. This is a message to every New Mexican with a disability that they are no less worthy of life, and life to the fullest, than any of us. I am pleased to have the Committee’s support and am eager to see this bill though the process and signed into law.”
