The Passing of Bob Dole: “He represented the finest of American values”

We had this saying back home: “They don’t make people like Bob Dole anymore.” What a man! Mr. Dole is a member of the greatest generation ever! World War II generation. My Daddy and Mommy where part of that generation. Daddy serving as a SGT. in the U.S. Marines. I did a funeral a couple of months back for a wonderful man who served in WW II. So many men and women of that generation were at the service. Part of my message was giving tribute to them. They clapped at the end of my message. I do not say that to brag about my message, I say it to tell you these folks appreciated the recognition and sincere thanks. They do not get that enough! They saved the world! The men fought the world war and the women ran the country! We are wimps compared to this generation, spoiled rotten! Here on 2021, we are such a divided Country, we do not even know what sacrifice means! We are so very selfish, worried more about I-Phones than the future of our Country. I have serious doubts if we could ever when a world war. Bob Dole was a ‘tough bird’ but a loving one.

Those folks in Washington could learn something from him. One is HONESTY!

Dr. Jim Denison posted this today:

Charles Wesley authored a Christmas prayer I invite you to join me in praying every day this blessed season:

O Thou who camest from above,
the pure celestial fire to impart
kindle a flame of sacred love
upon the mean altar of my heart.

There let it for thy glory burn
with inextinguishable blaze
and trembling to its source return,
in humble prayer and fervent praise.

Jesus, confirm my heart’s desire
to work and speak and think for thee;
still let me guard the holy fire,
and still stir up thy gift in me.

Ready for all thy perfect will,
my acts of faith and love repeat,
till death thy endless mercies seal,
and make my sacrifice complete.
