The Lord Is On Your Side…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. This morning I was reading from Psalm 124 and 125. David was writing how the Lord was on his side when he was attacked. His words also tell us just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, God surrounds his people. Actually, let’s read these two chapters before we pray:
If the Lord had not been on our side—let Israel say— if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us, they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us; the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away. Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 124
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore. The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil. Lord, do good to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart. But those who turn to crooked ways the Lord will banish with the evildoers. Peace be on Israel. Psalm 125
Father, thank you that you are on our side. Thank you for hemming us in. As we dwell in the shelter of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty, we can say of our Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. (Psalm 91)
Father, lead us today by those still waters and keep us in perfect peace because our minds are steadfast, because we trust in you. (Isaiah 26:3) Amen.
Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. The Lord is on your side.
