The Bible calls him the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10), the tempter, the thief, the father of lies (John 8:44). He will use his evil spirits to tempt us and then when we fall into sin, he will accuse us causing guilt to set in. Think about that for a minute, and let that sink in.

You will be lured into sin by tempting thoughts:

One more drink it won’t hurt anyone

Those drugs aren’t hurting anyone; keep using them no one will notice

You’re not hurting anyone else, keep visiting those websites and looking at those pictures

They deserve for you to say those hurtful things to them

Revenge is always the best way; someone needs to learn a lesson

You deserve to have those things; no one will notice them missing

You can eat as much as you want besides, it tastes good and it’s your body so eat as much as you want

And the list goes on and on. Sinful thoughts eventually lead to sinful actions which will pull you further and further away from our Heavenly Father and His plans for our lives. One of Satan’s mind tricks is to convince you that it is ok to go against God and to live a sinful life. Then once you step into sin, you become tormented with guilt and everything else that comes with sin. We must remember that Satan’s plan is for none of us to get saved and even though he cannot be in two places at once, according to

Ephesians 6:12 ESV, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

Evil forces are who we have to guard ourselves against and in order to do that we must rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us. The Apostle Paul wrote in

2 Corinthians 10:4-5, “4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”.

So today I want to encourage you to stay focused on the Word of God. Stay alert so you do not fall into sin and remember who the tempter is and what his goal is.

Blessings and Love to you ALL and thanks for reading!
