Living out His Life

We’ve often heard the story about what Jesus did for us, in the form of a parable about the man who was standing in the courtroom. The man did something horrific and received the death penalty and Jesus took his place, well here is a deeper version of that story.

You commit a horrific crime, and it’s obvious that you are guilty.  The Jury reads the verdict, guilty on all counts. The Judge looks at you with a serious look on his face and sentences you to death. The courtroom is silent when suddenly, the door opens, and Jesus walks in. He walks to the front and declares, “I’ll take his place”. The people in the courtroom are astonished and then the Judge responds, are you sure? Yes, I am sure let him go free and take me instead responded Jesus. The Judge slightly confused accepts His offer and frees you. You are speechless and tears well up in your eyes as you start to realize what Jesus is doing. Even though I deserve to die because of my sins Jesus came to my rescue and set me free.

Normally this story ends here but I heard an even more powerful ending to this powerful story. Here it is: The officers remove your handcuffs and place them on Jesus. As Jesus is being escorted out of the courtroom, He looks over at you and utters these powerful words: “I have taken your place, now go and live the rest of your life for ME.

Now I want you to make sure that sinks in.. Jesus gave Himself as a sacrifice in that courtroom, the only thing He asks in return is for us to live out the rest of our lives for HIM.

So today I leave you with these 2 verses:

1 Peter 2:24

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds, you have been healed.

John 3:16 ESV

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

So today Brothers and Sisters I want to encourage you to live for Him each day and never forget what He did for you and me. Blessings and Love to You ALL.
