As the U.S. Senate voted to pass a $1.2 trillion infrastructure package Tuesday that appears to have attracted a degree of bipartisan support, some conservatives are warning about some controversial aspects of the bill, which some argue have little to do with infrastructure.
Nineteen Republican senators — nearly a third of Senate Republicans — voted with all Senate Democrats to pass the infrastructure package.
However, not all GOP senators share their colleagues’ enthusiasm for the package, which is described as a bill “to authorize funds for Federal-aid highways, highway safety programs, and transit programs, and for other purposes.”

Fewer than 10% of Generation Z youth say they’re committed to reading the Bible regularly, according to a survey that was part of a newly released report by the American Bible Society.
In their “State of the Bible – USA 2021” report released Tuesday, ABS concluded that Gen Z, defined as being between ages 9 and 24, have a “precarious relationship with the Bible.”
Researchers polled individuals as young as 15 and split the generation between “Gen Z youth,” aged 15-17, to separate them from “Gen Z adults,” aged 18 to 24.

Are we wrong for taking such stands?Aug 12, 2021 |

Christian responsibility is to speak truth in the midst of an unbelieving world. When God’s people speak the truth from Scripture, it does offend. Some Christians may do this in the wrong spirit, but God’s truth remains and God Himself will fight our battles. But this does not mean that Christians are to be silent when society assaults the Word of God. We must take a stand in light of truth – God’s truth. It is important to understand that “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). The battles on Earth are far less than what is taking place in the heavenly realm known to God. But on Earth, He empowers His people to be strong and to put on the armor of God. We need to take up the shield of faith and stand on Biblical truth and be the light of Christ that shines through the darkness of a sin-sick world. Just as the American military fight to protect the nation’s freedoms, God’s people ought to fight for His truth because it is the only hope that mankind has to live in freedom for eternity. ======== (This column is based on the words and writings of the late Rev.
