I am just sick about the HUGE BLUNDER by state government! Governor Lujan Grisham and her team must be held accountable! How can something like this fly under the radar! I hate to even think about all the wasted tax payers money over the years! If I made a blunder like this when I was manager of radio stations, I would have been FIRED!!!!!!!!! I still shake my head at giving money to people to get vaccinated!!! The state was just rated as the worst place to live in America. The proof is in the pudding, as we used to say.

PS: I hear nothing from the Governor on the severe drought? What is her plan for our farmers and ranchers? NM Drought Monitor

We received this news release yesterday from the NM GOP Senate:

Senator Craig Brandt Releases Statement After PED Blunder Costs State Millions

SANTA FE — This week, the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) revealed they would not be appealing a decision handed down from the federal government barring them from $35 million dollars in federal impact aid credit. PED failed to meet a deadline to apply for the credit and submitted the application over a month late in early 2020. The Legislature is now responsible for covering the $35 million dollar shortfall caused by the error.

Senate Republican Whip, Senator Craig Brandt (District 40 – Sandoval), issued the following statement following these recent revelations:

“The buck stops with the Governor when it comes to ensuring that our executive departments execute their duties. Failing to meet a deadline is a high school mistake, not a mistake made by an agency trusted with the future of New Mexico’s young minds. It takes a present and involved department leader to ensure contingencies are in place so errors do not come at the expense of our students.”

“This administration frequently talks about how important our children are, but sadly, their actions suggest otherwise. In reality, New Mexico children are an afterthought for this Governor and a blunder of this magnitude is just further proof.”

It gets very disheartening of all the things going on in government! Not just at the federal level, but state and local. America is changing so fast it makes my head spin. I told my friend Pastor Paul Holt, this is the “New America.” Many will never know true American history, I should say, that many do not know it NOW. I do not understand all these movements such as this one, as I know no race. I know all people as one, we are all equal in the eyes of God. My mind is too full now with all these new terms coming out, I do not understand it all, I am sorry, but I am just a simple man of God who loves all and do not need all this stuff. I follow God’s ways, His Word, the Bible, to guide my life. I follow Jesus, not Man. God’s Word holds me accountable. I have a Biblical worldview. The government on all levels is reaching into the lives of Americans way too much, trying to take more and more control, even how we look at each other, how we think of each other! Have you ever known much of anything that the government takes control of that ever turns out for the good of the everyday American?

We received this news release from the New Mexico GOP House and Senate:

Lawmakers request public hearing on secretive PED effort to require critical race theory in classrooms

Santa Fe- A group of 15 House Republican lawmakers today requested the interim Legislative Education Study Committee (LESC) conduct an immediate hearing to provide oversight regarding the NM Public Education Department’s (PED) ongoing efforts to require critical race theory (CRT) be included in “redeveloping” core NM K-12 Social Studies Standards.  The PED’s efforts to date have included creating a handed-picked working group of pro-CRT advocates to develop eight “guiding principles” to help ensure this controversial anti-American viewpoint will be included in a new social studies academic curriculum.  PED has also selected a group of 60 “volunteers” from across the state to draft proposed new standards, as well as hired a left-leaning think tank from Washington, DC to provide technical assistance in creating these new social studies standards. These efforts by PED to begin changing current social studies standards are moving forward with little to no public notice, restricting parent and community involvement in these important decisions.

Due to the lack of public involvement in drafting these new, proposed standards, House GOP legislators believe it is essential that legislative oversight hearings be conducted to ensure that policymakers and the general public can thoroughly understand the, so far secretive, process of rewriting K-12 social studies standards and ascertain what impact these “guiding principles” will have on any proposed new standards, and to understand why only advocates of critical race theory were involved in creating these principles on behalf of PED.

Lawmakers are concerned not only with the ramifications of teaching theories, such as CRT, but that the process used to move forward in writing these new standards has been uncommonly exclusive.  In the interest of public transparency, PED’s actions and the discussions surrounding the creation of these new standards require review by the Legislature in order to ensure the public’s trust is not further eroded by the secrecy and one-sided approach PED has utilized so far in developing this new curriculum.

By requesting this public hearing from the LESC, it will be the first step in ensuring  concerned parents and other stakeholders will have a real voice in identifying and opposing any standard which tries to impose CRT upon NM’s students.

Additionally, House GOP was made aware of a separate letter, submitted to PED, from a local superintendent outlining their concerns with the process thus far.

From Adrian Rogers:

Principles for Victory

PRAY OVER THIS

“Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.”

READ THIS

In this spiritual battle against the world, the devil, and the flesh, we can oftentimes be our own biggest enemies. In Exodus 17, God called the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and led them through the wilderness toward Canaan.

Reading this story as Christians, we see Egypt represents the world, Pharaoh the devil, and Canaan the victorious life. There are four principles of victory found in this passage.

First, we must receive a gracious provision. In Exodus 17, the Israelites were in the barren land, dying of thirst. God instructed Moses to strike a rock with his rod, and when he did, water gushed from the rock. This is a glorious illustration of our salvation. Jesus, the rock of ages, was smitten for us. And the blood and water that flowed from His side represent the Holy Spirit.

Second, we must realize God’s grand purpose. God’s plan for His people was not merely that they come out of Egypt and go into the wilderness of Sinai. God’s plan for His people was that they go into the land of Canaan. God brought them out that He might bring them in. Many of us have been brought out of the world, but we’ve never experienced the victory of Canaan. But God has brought us out to bring us in.

CONSIDER THIS

  • Where can you recognize God’s gracious provision in your life? How is Christ the ultimate provision for every Christian?
  • Where do you question God’s purpose in your life? How is Exodus 17 an encouragement in this area?

DO THIS

Read Exodus 17 today and take time to recognize God’s provision and purpose in this account.

WalletHub Ranks New Mexico The Worst State to Live In

Pastor Dewey Note:

I do not call myself a prophet at all…..but some do…I was called years ago by God to be a Pastor/watchman on the wall. It was prophesied over me years ago at a Time to Revive Revival in Ashville, NC. This quote from Billy Graham really hits home for me as many are afraid to speak a Biblical Worldview. Here is what Billy said, “The prophets who spoke to their generations for God did not please and conform, they opposed (anything that did not honor the Lord)
Too many so called Christians have conformed to the world.

So very, very sad to get this report today……but it is about the same every year. Last night I was playing softball…..our game started at 8pm…what an AWE OF GOD sunset here in Albuquerque!!! New Mexico is such a beautiful state, God created such a wonderful place, but people are destroying it by sin. New Mexico suffers from great dysfunction, doing the same stupid things over and over but expects improvement! This has been going on for years! Hey! But! POT will save us!!! Home delivery of booze will save us!!! Feeding addictions will save us!!! Deaths from drunks and now it will also be deaths from POT HEAD drivers! This is all our Law Enforcement folks need….more evil…Other evils such as killing God’s babies through abortion, assisted suicide…..on and on, its ongoing sin here. New Mexico needs to repent from many sins, New Mexico needs a spiritual awakening. What will it take? More deaths? I cannot beleive this is the state that we all want to hand over to our children and their children!!!

I am reading Franklin Graham’s book, “Through My Gather’s Eyes” I strongly encourage you to read it!

Doctors often prescribe purifying the body of toxins. The Bible tells us how to cleanse the mind of corruption: meditate on things that are pure and virtuous (Philippians 4:8). It is God’s recipe for having the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:26) Do we? Franklin Graham in his book “Through My Father’s Eyes”

Billy Graham said, “True freedom in Christ consists not in the freedom to sin, but the freedom not to sin.” Billy continues, “Millions of professing Christians are only that—-‘professing.’ They have never possessed Christ. They live lives characterized by the flesh. Tens of thousands have never been born again. They will go into eternity lost.”
