Confrontational Evangelism, Good or Bad?

What is more biblical and effective, confrontational evangelism or relational evangelism?

Greg Stier of churchleaders.com makes the argument that confrontation evangelism must stop and he uses several scriptures to back up his position. His argument is that relationship evangelism is what Jesus and Paul used and therefore it is the only evangelism we should be using.

He defines confrontational evangelism as “the kind of evangelism that communicates the Gospel in an abrasive, in-your-face way.”

While this type of evangelism is not the preferred method of most, I would argue that Elijah and John the Baptist were not warm and fuzzy for sure. So it is my opinion that while the church should be loving in sharing the gospel, there is a place for the in-your-face way.
