“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

“If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear.”  (Psalm 66:18)

  “Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.

For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight—That You may be found just [a]when You speak, And blameless when You judge.

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.
Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice.
Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

   (Psalm 51:1-13)

Loving Father, have Mercy upon us as we submit to the scrutiny of Your Holy Spirit.      I understand more and more the importance of humility of heart –a contrite spirit, and the need to be broken before You.    In this position, the beautiful character of the LORD Jesus can be formed, developed, and seen in us.

  In Mercy LORD, search us, and show us areas where we have not yet submitted to Your guidance, for we desire our lives to be living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to You.      We do not want to grieve, or quench Your Holy Spirit through unbelief or pride of life.    I pray that we are willing to readily confess all of our sins so that we may be forgiven and cleansed, through Jesus Christ – our only mediator, and return into sweet fellowship with You.   So in Mercy, God—Create in us a clean heart.   Then we shall be clean to be blessed to serve through, and in, Your love!

 Father, thank You for hearing our confessions and in Your Mercy, cleansing our hearts to be heard in our Intercessions.   Now, if You please, give ear to our pleas for the needs Your Spirit shares with us.  Use us cleansed and revived to awaken America’s soul.   Revivals and Awakenings have their price—bring them anyway—we have no other choice.  In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
