National Day of Prayer is fast approaching TEAM JESUS!!! We pray your Church and community is going to be fully involved!

Dear National Day of Prayer Task Force Coordinators,

Greetings mighty prayer warriors! We want to say THANK YOU for all that each of you do to mobilize prayer throughout the year and especially on the National Day of Prayer! What a gift from our Lord to pray and serve alongside such creative, dedicated believers who are following the call to lead our nation before the throne of God in prayer.

Your efforts and energy are the heartbeat of the National Day of Prayer. Each year, coordinators just like you around the country lead hundreds of thousands of people in prayer, from the tiniest church in the heartland to large capitol events in our nation’s biggest cities. Every gathering brings immense glory to God!

Recent years have presented unexpected challenges and we are grateful to lock arms with intercessors who embrace the opportunity to rely on the creativity of the God to continue the work of mobilizing prayer. As the National Day of Prayer approaches, we have heard about hundreds of unique and exciting things happening that day!

We want to take a moment to celebrate a few creative events:

Pedal and Pray: In Michigan, a group a of intercessors is gearing up with bike helmets and the armor of God to pray for the Lord to pour out love, life and liberty as they ride bicycles throughout their city.

Jericho Marches. Teams across the country are taking time to walk or drive around their city center to build up a wall of prayer around their area! Some places are still closed to the public, but this creative approach allows participants to honor both the law and the call to prayer!

Connecting via Zoom: Prayer leaders in Puerto Rico are connecting with other Spanish-speaking believers in Cuba, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Spain via virtual prayer event to unite with one heart in prayer.

Serving in Prison: A team of NDPTF intercessors in the Virgin Islands will be hosting an event at a prison in St. Croix, Virgin Islands, to encourage the church within the prison.

These are just a few examples out of the thousands of what will be happening across the country on May 6th. Whether you are hosting the same event you have for years, a new format for your event, or it is your first time, know that we are grateful, and we are keeping you in our prayers during the NDP season and throughout the year. Please continue to post your events on our website and let us know the special plans God has put on your heart as you plan and prepare for NDP.

Thank you for the time you spend laying a foundation of prayer. Thank you for the time you spend building prayerful relationships with other believers in your community. Thank you for the time you spend bringing all the logistics and plans together. Thank you for loving our Lord so deeply and serving Him so diligently as you continue to mobilize unified public prayer for America! We love and appreciate you as we continually lift you up in our prayers.

Serving Him with Gladness,

About the National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer and, in 1988, that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.
