A couple of weeks ago I spoke at a Men’s Breakfast at the Albuquerque Revival Church, which is one of the city’s oldest churches. I spoke to them about anger. I grow weary of all the anger in the world, even coming from Christians. It breaks my heart. Nothing is ever solved with anger. It just escalates, like pouring gas on an existing fire. Anger can be like bullets into the hearts of people and through the walls of their homes; never to be completely erased.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling and slander; along with every form of malice. – Ephesians 4:31
This week at the supermarket my friend Ed, that works there, told me this past week that a man threatened to beat him up right there in the store! The man was mad that Ed could not find an item that he wanted. It got very heated. The man left, then came back in. Thankfully, it did not escalate.
What seems crazy to me is Christians posting hurtful things on the internet. So many people love fueling the flames of their own choir! What do they expect to gain? So much ‘nothing noise’ in America; too much of it coming from Christians. We must not show an unbelieving world this type of hurtful behavior from Christians! We must show the world the love of Jesus and what true Christianity is. We must all be ambassadors for our Lord in everything we say and do.
I love this quote from Jim George: “The more you manifest a servant’s heart in all you do, the more of an impact you’ll have on people’s lives.”
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another:  just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.  – John 13:34-35
