So Many Children Are Growing Up With No Mentors! Youth For Christ Houston: Building Mentoring Partnerships

Many think government spending, Presidents and laws and so forth will change the Country….I have said this for what??? 35 years???: America’s problem is a spiritual problem! Hearts for JESUS!! Look at the shape America is in! It is the fault of all of us! The Church, Republicans and Democrats …all of us! Many in America drink the ‘political kool-aid’ reminds me of Jim Jones, many make politicians gods! SHAME! Politics has never solved a problem! PEOPLE DID AND DO! I have said for years, Satan is having is way with many in America, even within the Church. I get so disgusted when I look at research and find that so many ‘so called Christians’ no longer beleive in Satan! WOW! What planet is this? Satan continues to have his way with many families in America, ripping apart the fabric of our Country. Our children suffer because of divorce, separation, being raised by others, booze, drugs in the house used by their parents, child abuse and on and on. We have failed our children here in America, child hunger is raging across America. Don’t get me started on how America kills God’s babies through abortion! All of us need to look into the mirror and ask God what to do about all this, because what we are doing is not working for our children and for all of us. I am so super encouraged what YFC in Houston is doing!!! What are you and I going to do????

“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I ought to do. What I ought to do, by the grace of God, I will do.”—D. L. Moody

From Adrian Rogers:

We must guard ourselves against lowering the standard of God’s Word to our level of understanding or political correctness. And we must guard against raising our traditions above the standard of His Word. The Bible is not meant to be paraded past the judgment bar of your mind. You can argue with it, but why?

You can pick up any other book and read it, but this is the book that reads you. It pulsates with life and power. It cuts, burns, crushes, and wields mountain-moving power. His Word has a life of its own. It is the voice of God to you. You cannot refuse it, deny it, distort it, or dilute it. You can only bow before it.

Youth For Christ Houston: Building Mentoring Partnerships for Area Teens

‘We Are Making a Difference; We Don’t Just Hope for Success; We Expect It.’

HOUSTON, Tex. — A recent study conducted by Mentor shows that “more than one in three young people – an estimated 16 million – never had an adult mentor of any kind (structured or naturally occurring) while growing up.”

The report, The Mentoring Effect: Young People’s Perspectives on the Outcomes and Availability of Mentoring, also pointed to the “reality that mentoring relationships have powerful effects which provide young people with positive and complementary benefits in a variety of personal, academic and professional factors.”

Enter Jonathan Frost, executive director for Youth For Christ Houston (YFC, www.yfc.net), who has been working with juvenile detention facilities in the area, to help develop ongoing mentoring relationships for the youth in the YFC program.

“At YFC Houston, we’ve seen the difference that mentoring makes with the teens in our programs,” said Frost. “We’ve had kids make leaps and strides in school and in their home life. We are making a difference; we don’t just hope for success. We expect it.”

Frost explains that YFC Houston’s mentoring strategy with teens currently makes strides in non-recidivism, improved grades, and better behavior. They aspire to begin partnering with businesses to create a network where the teens can be introduced to various genres of business. “We will try to arrange that the kids participate in a shadowing experience or an internship, or maybe even a first job. If we can find those business leaders who have a heart for kids who are coming out of facilities, it is amazing for everyone involved. These teens just need someone to walk alongside them; they have such potential – they just haven’t experienced the opportunity yet. We are always looking for those kinds of partners around the community.”

YFC has chapters impacting thousands of communities across the nation that seek out and serve youth from all walks of life. Many teens are silently struggling through a variety of challenging issues—and now they see the living power of a loving God.

Youth For Christ staff and volunteers are encouraged by the YFC 3Story® concept, which is based on the belief that kids will be reached for Christ when met at their point of need—and as workers connect their stories with Jesus’s story. The ministry efforts of Youth For Christ are changing lives, one young person at a time.

Youth For Christ encourages staff and volunteers to be good news while also sharing the stories of the Good News of Jesus. It involves building relationships through the ups and downs of everyday life in order to lead people to Christ. For more information, visit yfc.net.

Youth For Christ has been a pillar of missional ministry since 1944, when the Rev. Billy Graham served as YFC’s first full-time staff member. Since then, Youth For Christ has continued to be both a rural and urban ministry on mission, and it is always about the message of Jesus. YFC reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and commitment to social involvement. Youth For Christ operates in over 100 nations and has more than 160 chapters that impact communities across America.

From Yesterday:

I cannot stand the children of New Mexico being killed!

What do you say to this on going violence in New Mexico? This is spiritual warfare, Satan is having is way with so many. So many in New Mexico and our entire Country do not get to know JESUS, they are being killed by people swept away by Satan. New Mexico is becoming a very strange land to me, I am getting where I do not know it anymore as it sinks, murders of people and abortions of God’s babies. My heart really broke when I read that an 11-year-ol boy was shot to death in Valencia County. I cannot even imagine the pain of the family. We need to stop having high school pep rally’s in this state and get down to God’s business of saving our child from murder and abortions. A deep cloud of death has been and is getting thicker in this state. It is time to stop think everything is beautiful here!!!! IT IS NOT! I SMELL HELL FROM HERE! God cannot bless this state with the on going killings. We need to reach the lost, the ones committing these horrific crimes do not know Jesus. We must get out and carry out THE GREAT COMMISSION! Get down to JESUS’ business and not our own personal business, OR GLORY!

So many in New Mexico do not know Jesus, about 15 to 18%, the last research I saw a couple of years ago… (I really beleive that it is probably 10%) go to Church on Sunday, I am sure that dropped during the pandemic. So many do not know Jesus, they are hooked on drugs, booze, committing crimes over drugs, and all other evils. Its not in your Church….its outside. Get my point? Its called the GREAT COMMISSION! What is The Great Commission? The Church not only New Mexico, but in America, is losing is its influence very fast. I thank the Lord when I was Associate Pastor at Church of God in Los Lunas, New Mexico Under for Pastor Jim Montoya, he made that our theme….our goal to carry out the GREAT COMMISSION! We did revivals in city parks!!!! We baptized people in city parks!!!! Hallelujah!!!! I am not a ‘high school pep rally’ preacher…..I feel so super blessed by the mission the LORD has me and Sharon on…I spent almost 8 years and and off spreading the Word and Love of JESUS in Catron County…..I will always remember the Revivals at FBC in Reserve and Quamado, especially the baptisims that we had over the 3 or 4 years of Revivals. One year we had 6 at a Revival at FBC in Reserve! I also have been blessed to go to Windom, Minnesota for Revivals!!! God prepared me for this mission at FGGAM! Reach the world one person at a time for JESUS!

I am tired of the high school pep rally’s…by the way that is not my term, it is what the late, great man of God Chuck Colson said years ago about the America Church….that it had turned into a high school pep rally….yep….Please read this book: Chuck Colson: Against the Night: Living in the New Dark Ages

If Jesus returns today….I am sure He will be flipping tables all over the place…..even in the Churches!
