He Will be Exalted

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Praise him all creatures here below.

Praise him above, ye heavenly hosts.

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost!

As Jesus approached Jerusalem, near the Mount of Olives, He called two of his disciples and told them, “Go into the village and you will find a colt tied that no man has ridden.  Loose him and bring him here.  if any man ask why you loose him, say to him:  because the lord has need of him.”

They did as requested and brought the colt to Him.  They placed their clothes on the colt and Jesus sat upon it’s back.  Then, as they marched into the city the whole group of disciples began to rejoice and praise God with loud voices because of all the mighty works they had seen.

Some of the Pharisees among the crowd  that had gathered called to Jesus, “Master, rebuke your disciples  and tell them to stop this noise!”

Jesus said to the Pharisees, “I tell you, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Psalm 46:  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  2  Therefore will not we fear though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea…7   The lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge… 10  Be still and  know that I am God:  I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Psalm 47:  O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph!

The Bible tells us there is a time and a season for everything.  I was impressed by Jesus’ reply to the Pharisees in the story above:  “If these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out!”  God will be praised… if not by people then by the very objects He created…and what better time than now for Him to be exalted!

It’s time for us to be still and know:  HE IS GOD…not a figment of someone’s imagination, not a symbol of love…He IS love!

Acts 4: 12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Matthew 28: 18  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19  Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

These words by Jesus have become known as ‘the great commission.’   This commission will be fulfilled, just as God will be exalted and every knee will bow.  My prayer is that all of us who know Him will not be ashamed or timid about telling others what he has done for us.  Let the world see, as we have, the power in the name of JESUS!  Praise God from whom all blessings flow!  Amen
