Happy World Down Syndrome Day…

Last evening I was talking to my neice Lisa. She is a wonderful teacher in the state of Connecticut. She told me on Friday her class celebrated down syndrome day, a few days early. The class wore mismatched socks on each foot. It peaked my interest and I began to dig a little deeper.

Down Syndrome day is dedicated to raising awareness about Down Syndrome and celebrating individuals around the world living with this genetic condition. I read where the  21st of the third month was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21 chromosome.

Today, let’s thank God he makes us all unique. Let’s thank him for the celebratiion of life and let’s celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. Time to change my socks, how about you?

Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you for life. In Genesis 1:27 we read that all are created in the image of God. Psalm 139 tells us that you, oh God, created our inmost being; you knit us together in our mother’s womb. We praise you because we are fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, and we know that full well. When we were made in the secret place, when we was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw our unformed body; all the days ordained for us were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Father, today we celebrate world down syndrome day. May your blessings be showered upon them today and every day. May they know the love and value they bring to our world. Amen.

Have a blessed World Down Syndrome Day Gods beautiful people. It’s never too late to change your socks.
