Read My Card Please…

Good morning beautiful people. Recently, I went to pay on a credit card in person. I had remembered it was due that day and hurriedly journeyed to pay it praying for favor to get in before they locked the doors. The sweet lady did let me in even though she had already locked the door, if I promised to hurry.

For some reason the machine wouldn’t read my card. The machine wasn’t recognizing the chip. The cashier tried several times and it would pop up card error. She called for help. The manager tried several times and the same thing happened. After many attempts the card read the same, card error. The lady explained to me I would need to call the credit card company tomorrow. I was feeling bad as the store was now closed and I was holding them up. In addition, I wanted my payment posted that day so I would be timely. Then I had the idea, let’s pray.

I inquired if we could say a quick prayer and try one more time. She passed the card back to me and I put it between my hands and prayed something simple like God help this card go through. I put the card back in the machine and the cashier looked up at me and said it’s reading it now. I guess the prayer really helped, she said. Yes, I think it did too. I smiled all the way home. I hope those two girls always remember the power of prayer.

A good reminder- nothing is too small to pray about.

Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you that the joy of the Lord is our strength. (Nehemiah 8:9) Fill our mouths with laughter today and our hearts with joy. We have so much to be thankful for.

Father, thank you for hearing and answering the smallest prayers. Thank you for hearing and answering our biggest prayers.

Father, thank you that our lives are in your hands. Lead us today by the power of your Holy Spirit. May the joy we carry be contagious and spread to others around us. Amen.

Have a blessed day God’s beautiful people. Enjoy your day and pray about whatever you encounter this day.

Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” (Psalm 126:2)

Call to me and I will answer thee. (Jeremiah 33:3) (Job 14:15)
