‘The Return’ Movement Calls on U.S. Churches To Recover Freedoms by Seeking God’s Kingdom First
Marcus Lamb: America Should Remember Heritage, Turn Back to God Before It’s Too Late
NEW YORK—Once the moral and spiritual giant of its age, the soul of the United States now lies in jeopardy and could soon be lost forever, according to leaders of the revival movement sweeping the nation known as “The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance.”
As the world’s waning champion of life, liberty, and property, America now boasts of more than 60 million babies killed since Roe v. Wade, a national debt surpassing $25 trillion, and rampant legal and illegal drug use hitting all-time high in this decade.
Lamenting and repenting of America’s fall from grace, thousands of American Christians and churches are currently uniting to lead their country toward restoration. “The Return” is rapidly gaining momentum and participants ahead of its landmark gathering on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on September 26.
According to Marcus D. Lamb, member of the board of advisers for “The Return” and president of Daystar Television Network, “The Return” is America’s crucial moment because she has forgotten the God of the Bible—and the God of many of the founding fathers.
Lamb says the only way forward is for America to find its way back to the biblical God.
“America has forgotten its heritage,” Lamb said. “We need a revival, but one of the heart. For that to happen, America must first return to Christ as Lord with every fiber of her being—where Christ alone is the apex and biblical standard in all things spiritual, political, as moral, and religious within the Judeo-Christian family. While we understand that our founding fathers believed, although not all of them were Christians, that there was a Creator-God, and that he gave us certain inalienable rights, freedoms and liberties—some have taken them for granted, and now, we are losing those freedoms at an alarming rate.”
The American church must lead the people of God in repentance and revival if they hope to recover their constitutional freedoms, Lamb says.
“America, and its blood-washed church, must once again, rise up with a renewed boldness—pray and fast for another Great Awakening,” Lamb said. “For Christians to win this ‘war’ over those that would rid this nation of our rights and freedoms, and avoid severe consequences, and catastrophic results, it is imperative for each of us to come to gather in unity.”
Lamb issued a plea to American believers to seize the moment of united prayer and repentance on September 26.
“I cannot [over]stress the importance of being a part of The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance movement. Become a part of a fresh, reformation of churches and Christians from around the world on September 26, in Washington, DC, and trust God to turn our nation around.”
“The Return” is for all believers who love the Lord from all denominations and backgrounds. Leaders already on board with “The Return” include Gen. William Boykin, Carter Conlon, Dr. James Dobson, Bishop Harry Jackson, Alveda King, Anne Graham Lotz, Pat and Gordon Robertson, Kevin and Sam Sorbo, Stephen E. Strang and many moreCo-chairs of “The Return,” Jonathan Cahn and Kevin Jessip, have recorded a special video about the movement, which already has over 1.3 million views. Watch here.
“The Return” is set for 40 days before the presidential election, and on the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower, in the days of America’s founding and dedication to God. Surrounding the “The Day of Return” on Sept. 26 at the Washington Mall will be 10 days, known from ancient times as the Days of Awe, to be set as a special time of prayer and repentance from Sept. 18-28.
Coordinated events within “The Return” movement will also take place throughout America’s cities, towns, houses of worship and homes, as well as in multiple countries around the world, as many believe the nation has been given a critical window of opportunity to repent and return to God.
