The Flagrant Hypocrisy of Pastors, Churches, and Organizations Remaining Silent on Abortion……….

Truth as always from Pastor Vince Torres:
Vincent Torres

Following today’s (yesterday) pro-abortion SCOTUS decision which jeopardizes women’s health and safety, I am contemplating:

-The cringe-worthy irony of progressive politicians glorifying and celebrating abortion during their campaigns to “save lives.”

-The flagrant hypocrisy of pastors, churches, and organizations remaining silent on abortion during their campaigns for “justice.”

Abortion takes lives.

Abortion is an injustice.

Thank you Pastor Vince, Ethel Maharg and Elisa Martinez are godsends to New Mexico!

From Pastor Dewey: I have been reporting on this issue since 1997, when Dewey’s Daily Cup started, then on KKIM Christian Radio and then I preaching on it since 2009, now here at FGGAM for almost 8 years. One Sunday at a church in ABQ when I got done preaching a man said I liked your sermon but why did you preach about abortion so much? So many lost souls………Where does your Pastor, where does your Church stand on abortion? Does your Pastor take a stand strong against abortion? Please send me an email and let me know. America is losing its soul rather quickly…..the blood of these babies we kill are on all of our hands….it is happening on our watch.

Francis Shaeffer said, “Every abortion clinic should have a sign in front of it saying, “Open by the permission of the church.”

I do not know if there are many sermons when I do talk about souls and abortion. I do not preach cotton candy. I preach accountability to God in love, because I love every person, every soul sent by God. I care enough for people to risk the hate I get.

A few years ago a long time Pastor in New Mexico said to me, “You know Dewey why the Church is having problems? It is not baptizing people and training them up.”

There are Churches that have not had one baptism this year. Many Pastors stopped preaching and carrying out The Great Commission long ago.

There is a battle being fought for America’s soul, but that battle does not belong to any political party or policy position. It is really a battle for souls in America.

American Christians have become so very dysfunctional…..praying to God for Him to bless America, while we continue to kill His babies….I guess many have forgotten there is ramifications to sinful behavior. Killing babies and thinking we should be blessed??????

Dr. Jim Denison shared in the last month or so that only 21% of Americans go to Church every Sunday. The Church is losing its influence as the days go by……

I am sickened when I hear politicians or anybody say, God Bless America, NO IT SHOULD BE AMERICA! BLESS GOD!!! GOD HAS BLESSED US, GOD FOUNDED AMERICA!! WE ARE THE ONES KILLING HIS BABIES.

Here’s a Francis Schaeffer quote that is appropriate for our time. “If there is no final place for civil disobedience, then the government has been made autonomous, and as such, it has been put in the place of the Living God.” – “A Christian Manifesto” page 130.

No Hollywood here, just Biblical facts……

Supreme Court Puts Women’s Lives at Risk by Again Refusing to Allow States to Regulate Abortion,

“prioritizes ending preborn life over saving a mother’s life,” says Students for Life of America

“Despite the fact that the abortionists of Louisiana have a terrible track record, their desire to avoid making a plan for emergencies trumped the obvious social good of saving women’s lives,” said SFLA’s Kristan Hawkins. “Today’s decision prioritizes ending preborn life over saving a mother’s life and allows disreputable hacks to stay in business.”

WASHINGTON D.C. (06-29-2020) – Responding to the Supreme Court’s decision in June Medical Services v. Russo (formerly Gee) in which in a close decision five justices struck down health and safety regulations,  Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins made the following statement: “Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton have been used as a get-out-of-regulation free card for abortionists for almost 50 years. Today’s ruling ignores the basic tenets of our Constitution that gives states the right to protect the lives of their citizens, including mothers and their preborn children. This clearly will be an issue in the election as who appoints justices will be front and center in the minds of voters.”

The Louisiana case involved the state’s requirement that abortionists, along with other out-patient surgical locations, set up admitting privileges at local hospitals so that in an emergency, patients could be quickly transferred for life-saving care. Unlike a similar law in Texas that was blocked, Louisiana made this requirement across the board.

A Kaiser poll found that “nearly 7 in 10 support laws that require abortions only be performed by doctors who have been granted the right to admit patients at hospitals, including 56 percent of Democrats and 82 percent of Republicans.”

Many people don’t understand how Roe v. Wade impacts abortion policy. In fact, if you like some limits on abortion, you don’t like Roe. To learn more, click here to read Hawkins op-ed at RealClearPolitics.

I preach on the soul often. America is losing its soul…we kill babies….through abortion….many other Satanic things we do as a Country are “Soul Sickness” Many do not care at all. This is why the Church must go forth boldly and carry out The Great Commission. Onward Christian Soldiers!

How is it possible to restore a patient’s hope?

From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham

Q: A medical journal carried a story about a frequently missed diagnosis called “Soul Sickness.” Some physicians stated that the cure is to restore the patient’s hope. How is this possible? – R.H.

A: The human body is the house in which the soul resides temporarily. The soul is never completely satisfied and happy here, because the soul is not home yet. The true home of the soul is with Christ.

The Bible teaches that everyone has a soul (spirit) with certain attributes such as conscience, memory, intelligence and consciousness. Your soul is the real you. But one day our bodies will go to the grave, but our souls live on.

“Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it” (Ecclesiastes 12:7).

Jesus said our souls are more valuable than all the rest of the world put together. Why then do people spend so much time and energy pampering body but ignore the soul? It only leads to spiritual starvation and malnourishment. God is calling out to all people to take care of our souls – the inner self – by receiving Him into our lives and feeding on the Word of God; letting His Spirit transform us from within.

God knows that an uncontrolled life is an unhappy life, so He puts reins on our wayward souls that they may be directed into the paths of righteousness. Someday life will be over, no matter how much attention we give to our health. Will we look back with regret, because we nourished our bodies but starved our souls?

“Humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls” (James 1:21, NLT). This is true hope that only comes from the love of God.

Supreme Court rules on abortion and Jen Hatmaker says her daughter is gay: What our culture needs most

  • Arguments for and against the ruling
  • Jen Hatmaker announces a “moment of pride”
  • The path to public morality lies in personal morality

Yesterday, the Supreme Court struck down a Louisiana law restricting abortion by a five-to-four vote, with Chief Justice Roberts siding with the four-judge liberal wing.

The Louisiana law, enacted in 2014, requires doctors performing abortions to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals. Its supporters said the law protects the health and safety of women seeking abortions and that requirements for obtaining admitting privileges help ensure the competence of doctors.

Opponents claimed that hospitalizations after abortions are rare, that women would receive medical care at a hospital whether their doctors had admitting privileges or not, and that abortion providers are often unable to obtain admitting privileges for reasons unrelated to their competence.

Arguments for and against the ruling

The Federal District Court in Baton Rouge struck down the Louisiana law in 2017. Its judge, John W. deGravelles, said it created an undue burden on women’s constitutional right to abortion. He stated that “in the last twenty-three years, Hope Clinic [an abortion clinic in Shreveport], which serves in excess of 3,000 patients per year, had only four patients who required transfer to a hospital for treatment. In each instance, regardless of whether the physician had admitting privileges, the patient received appropriate care.”

He added that only one of six doctors who perform abortions in Louisiana had admitting privileges when the law passed; the remaining five faced obstacles to obtaining them for reasons unrelated to their competence. He found that implementing the law would force two of the state’s three abortion clinics to close.

The judge also stated that the law was essentially identical to Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt, a Texas law that the Supreme Court struck down in 2016. Chief Justice Roberts agreed, voting with the liberal wing of the Supreme Court out of what he described as respect for precedent.

By contrast, Louisiana’s solicitor general, Elizabeth Murrill, testified before the court in March that the state’s law would help vet doctors and bring abortion regulations in line with those for other outpatient procedures. Damon Cudihy, an ob-gyn with more than twenty years of medical experience, agrees. He has cared for patients who presented with complications from induced surgical abortions performed by doctors who did not have admitting privileges to treat them in the hospital. He states that “precious time was lost while attempting to contact the abortion provider or at least to obtain medical records that would have helped me to better care for this patient who presented to the emergency room.”

He was frustrated that there was no way to contact the doctor or to obtain pertinent medical records and has “no doubt that more lives could be saved and many lifelong health complications avoided if patients could have continuity of care from the doctor who originally performed the surgery.” He adds: “Needless to say, this kind of routine abandonment is not tolerated in any other medical specialty. Why only within the specialty purportedly dedicated to women’s health?”

Jen Hatmaker announces a “moment of pride”

Another headline of the day is the disclosure by well-known Christian author Jen Hatmaker that her daughter is gay. She called this statement “a moment of pride.”

Sydney Hatmaker, with the agreement of her mother, said, “It’s not enough, Christians, to say, ‘Well, we love you, anyway.’ I don’t want to be ‘loved anyway.’” She thinks it is “maybe even more cruel” for Christians to love LGBT people while also believing homosexuality to be contrary to biblical teaching.

I am sure these stories will be discussed at length by evangelicals over the coming days. For today, let’s focus on a fact they share: biblical morality is too important to be left to our secular courts and culture.

We should work and pray for justices who will rule in a manner consistent with original intent and orthodox morality. But we cannot know whether Supreme Court justices will make decisions aligned with their perceived worldview, as demonstrated by Justice Gorsuch’s position on LGBTQ employment and Chief Justice Roberts’ decision on abortion clinics.

We can champion biblical sexuality in the courts and larger culture, but we cannot predict or control secular outcomes. Nor can we predict when well-known Christian authors and speakers will change their minds about key biblical imperatives.

The key to godly character

In a week focused on the consequences of character, it is therefore vital that Christians do what is needed to become the change we wish to see. We cannot control what others do, but we can control our words and actions and the values they reflect. We can use our influence for biblical morality, but only if we are people others are willing to follow.

I am grieved by the Supreme Court’s decision because I believe it will lead to more lives lost, not only for preborn children but also for their mothers. I am grieved by Jen Hatmaker’s disclosure because I believe biblical sexuality is best for her daughter as well as for those her mother influences.

But I should expect neither abortion activists nor LGBTQ advocates to care about my biblical position if I do not exhibit biblical character. Such character is best exemplified by the “fruit of the Spirit”: “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, [and] self-control” (Galatians 5:22–23).

Our Father can produce such character in me only to the degree that I submit to his Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) and seek to be more like his Son (Romans 8:29).

For our fallen culture to seek Jesus, it needs to see Jesus in us. More today than yesterday, and more tomorrow than today.
