Repent

ONE WORD.. REPENT…. THE WORLD HAS CONDITIONED US TO HATE THAT WORD…

My study this early Saturday morning… Jeremiah 8:20-22 ”The harvest is past, the summer has ended, and we are not saved. 21) Since my people are crushed, I am crushed; I mourn, and horror grips me. 22) Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?”

MY THOUGHTS: WOW!!!!!!
Oh that we would actually mourn the way Jeremiah did for this dying world.. Jeremiah was filled with anguish as he watched his people reject God…And WE ARE WATCHING THE SAME WORLD STILL DYING IN SIN, still rejecting God.

It’s hard to see God in this pandemic, because our hearts are not broken for our lost brothers, sisters, neighbors, friends, co-workers or the world we live in!!! ONLY when we can get to that place like Jeremiah did and have the kind of passionate concern, will we truly be moved to pray, change, and lead others to break their hearts to do the same.. We search for the balms of this world… We sanitize our hands, and yet the sickness is in our spirit .. Sin… Yes I said it… SIN!!!

Our spiritual sickness can be healed.. But we can be a people that rejects the only true healing for our self- inflicted wounds… GOD!!!!

We can cover our face with masks, but we cannot mask the condition of our hearts..

This world was practicing SOCIAL DISTANCING FROM GOD … before the virus showed up, and nobody batted an eye…

This virus in our world is like nobody has ever seen, and the resolve of this world was to hoard TOILET PAPER!!! And yet we had no problem watching this world decay… When the condition of our hearts is more filthy than our behinds…

I believe we must mourn for the hurting in this world, and bombard it with the anguished prayer of CHRIST, as he did in the Garden of Getsemane…

God can use this pandemic and turn it for His Glory as a tool to bring this world to its knees, and lead us to repentance, and a hunger to serve Him..

Or…….. We can continue to live as we see fit, believing that God is so loving that He will understand, and accept our sinful ways…

But believing that… Would be like putting chapstick on a cancerous sore… We may not have a choice or a say in the matter when it comes to SOCIAL DISTANCING…

But the distance between us and God… Is the space between our knees and the ground… And that distance can be closed, as we drop down in prayer … The choice is ours…. That is all…
