‘Five Rs’ Lead the Human Condition from Rebellion to Redemption as World Prepares for ‘The Return’ Event in Washington, D.C.

Amazing Day of Prayer for Repentance Set for Sept. 26 on Washington Mall Will Bring Together Multitudes Worldwide

NEW YORK—A committed group of national leaders knows that America has a small window of opportunity to return to God, return to His purposes for America and return to redemption in Him.

A national and global movement called TheReturn.org, culminating with a major event on Sept. 26 in Washington, D.C., will take human beings everywhere from rebellion to redemption.

“The Return” team is praying for this crucial time in America as these “Five Rs” lead to God’s redemption of the human condition, knowing that it is only the Holy Spirit who can lead a person to return to God:

  1. Repentance
  2. Reconciliation
  3. Restoration
  4. Revival
  5. Reformation

Through repentance, reconciliation, restoration, revival and reformation, people move from rebellion to redemption, say event co-leaders Kevin Jessip and Jonathan Cahn, which leads to “The Return.”

“Now is the time for all to return to the Lord our God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster,” states Jessip. “As Deuteronomy 4:30-31 says, ‘When you are in tribulation, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, you will return to the LORD your God and obey his voice. For the LORD your God is a merciful God. He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.’”

Throughout the book of Numbers in the Bible, Jessip adds, God is seen as a holy God who cannot ignore rebellion or unbelief, but also as the one who faithfully keeps his covenant and patiently provides for the needs of his people. Numbers Chapter 16 tells of Korah’s rebellion, and we are reminded of it again in Jude 1:11. Then in Deuteronomy, Moses reminds the people of God’s faithfulness and love, but also of God’s wrath on the previous generation of Israelites because of their rebellion.

Cahn, a New York Times best-selling author of “The Harbinger,” “The Paradigm” and “The Oracle,” is one of the many who are calling for the nation to return to prayer, return to repentance and return to God.

“We have driven God out of our public life and have called what is good evil and what is sin good,” Cahn says in a video that has been viewed by more than 800,000 people. “America’s fall from God is not only progressing—it’s accelerating—to the point that it is no longer just a falling away but a war against the purposes of God.”

“The Return” is set for 40 days before the presidential election, and on the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower, in the days of America’s founding and dedication to God. Surrounding the “The Day of Return” on Sept. 26 will be 10 days, known from ancient times as the Days of Awe, to be set as a special time of prayer and repentance from Sept. 18-28.

Coordinated events within “The Return” movement will also take place throughout America’s cities, towns, houses of worship and homes, as well as in multiple countries around the world, as many believe the nation has been given a critical window of opportunity to repent and return to God, especially as America and much of western civilization was founded on a biblical foundation stone but has turned away from that foundation.

Cahn and Jessip are joining with others such as Dr. James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Gordon Robertson, Anne Graham Lotz, Alveda King, Michele Bachmann, Marcus Lamb, Bishop Harry Jackson and many more, who are all helping to spread the word about “The Return.”
