Benjamin Watson, Adam Wainwright, Brandin Cooks and Luke McCown Sit Down for First Live YouTube Huddle with FCA—Regular Weekly ‘Huddle Up!’ Events Planned Each Wednesday Afternoon

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA, www.fca.org) continues to explore what sports ministry looks like in the current socially-distanced landscape and is making an exciting announcement about its first-ever global digital gathering this Friday afternoon that will feature four professional sports stars.

“In this season without sports, FCA hopes these all-in, virtual Huddles will encourage and challenge coaches, athletes, parents and fans who are searching for connection and sports-related content,” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson. “Nearly every coach and athlete on every level has experienced disappointment, from cancelled tournaments, ended seasons and the loss of camaraderie with their teams. It is comforting to know that professional athletes at the highest level share these struggles as well and that they rely on Jesus for peace and guidance.”

At 3:30 p.m. ET Friday, March 27FCA will host the first live “Huddle Up!” YouTube event. The global sports gathering will be emceed retired NFL tight end Benjamin Watson and feature MLB pitcher Adam Wainwright, NFL receiver Brandin Cooks and retired NFL quarterback Luke McCown. The four pro athletes will talk about what their lives have looked like in this season without sports and how they’re staying engaged in their faith. Coaches, athletes, parents and fans alike are welcome to join the Huddle.

Those who wish to join the Huddle can visit youtube.com/fcavideo any time before Friday’s event. There, participants can subscribe to the channel and set a reminder for 3:30 p.m. ET March 27, when live-streaming will begin.

Additional “Huddle Up!” live-streams will feature prominent sports figures every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET. “Huddle Up!” is just one element of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ new #FCAvirtual initiative, which brings together coaches and athletes to engage together even when they may not be able to meet in person.
