Don’t Be Haughty Now, It’s Called Grace…

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. I was thinking about humility this morning. Humble pie. I remembered this prayer I wrote a few years ago and decided to share it once again. Stay humble beautiful people, we are saved by grace and grace alone. Here it is…

I was having a conversation with a friend recently. We shared stories back and forth of how God was using His people to change the world. The more we talked about what we saw happening, I could sense the more important we were beginning to feel. It didn’t take my God long to lead me to some scriptures to bring us back down from the clouds we were puffing on.

It is easy to think more highly of ourselves than we should. We are all the same at the foot of the cross. There is not one of us that could earn or do we deserve the free gift given to us. No matter how good we are, or think we are, we are undeserving of His grace and mercy. This free gift cost Jesus His very life and us nothing. May we never forget it. Angel Murchison may you never forget it!

We are blessed that he chooses to use us. He alone could change everything in an instant. He surely doesn’t need us and we are blessed that he does use us to work in his kingdom. May we never be haughty, but humble counting our blessings every day. Let’s Pray:

God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. Guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith. Grace be with you all. 1 Timothy 6:13-21

Father, thank you for mercy and grace. Thank you that everything we are or will ever become is because of the love, mercy and grace you have freely given us. May we always remember where you brought us from. Thank you that you, oh God, oppose the proud but show favor to the humble. (James 4:6)

Father, you tell us in 1 Peter 5:6 to humble ourselves, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time you may exalt us. We humble ourselves before you once again this morning. Thank you for the opportunity to work in your kingdom. We know you don’t need us, but because of your great love and mercy you desire to.

Father, thank you to the God of our salvation for the abundant life you have given us. We are a blessed people. Even in difficult times such as this, we are a blessed people. Amen

Have a blessed day God’s beautiful people. Don’t be haughty now, it’s called grace.
