Thanksgiving – A Day after Lament

“ . . . Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.

Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord”   (Ezekiel 37:3-6)

Beloved, an obvious lapse within much of the modern western church is a sluggish pursuit of her Holy God. However, there is nothing sluggish about praying people. Prayer is an arduous work of the soul.   Prayer, effectual prayer, becomes the conduit between the person in intimacy with God and God Himself.   Prayer, intercession, as a plea before God for the spiritual needs of man, is always a battle for the man of God fully alert, and spiritually fortified, to open the way for God’s involvement in the affairs of men.

I share my heart and spirit here, being heart-broken over the prayerlessness of much of the church. It grieves me that Communists, Socialists, and other godless peoples, give more thought, effort and even finances and other sacrificial forms for their dead ideals than we in the western world will devote to our risen, living LORD Jesus Christ. Yet, my heart is peaceful in Him . . . while edgy for revival of the church and spiritual awakening, leading to the saving of millions of men and women, girls and boys. To those with a heart to pray . . . that these bones might live . . . Pray On!
