Treating One Another With Respect and Dignity

We are super blessed to have a new posting from Sister Connie Keyohara this morning! PTL!!! God Bless you and yours Sister!

Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

The Bible is full of scripture on how we should treat others. If we are serious about following Christ, we need to heed these instructions “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me” -Jesus

If, as Christians, we cannot extend grace within the body of believers, We will not be able to extend grace to those outside the church.

We can plan outreach events, revivals, studies, classes or any number of things we usually do for ministry, but if we do not treat people well, it’s absolutely pointless.

It all begins at home. It’s like trying to make sure everyone else in the community is taken care of, yet your wife and kids are home suffering.

We are responsible for treating others with love, respect and dignity. And again, it starts at home.

Let’s keep in mind that not everyone is going to be easy to get along with. What do we do then?

First of all, we are to love them. Even when it’s hard. And sometimes you may have to go to them PRIVATELY and speak to them about the issues you may have.

Then we are to pray and then pray some more. Take the hurts or issues to God. Tell him what is hurting your heart.

When you “don’t like someone” and you show it, you can really do some damage. Damage that can really affect a person. Damage that can cause a person to stumble.

This type of behavior is inexcusable. God will not bless this behavior nor will he allow it to continue. Some way, some how he will stop this.

Philippians 2:3-5 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.

Christ said that you should “let your light so shine” so that others will want to come unto Him.

Don’t be like a human fire extinguisher putting out any bit light that might be burning within others.

Let’s always remember that the World is watching us, and how we treat each other is a big part of how they view Christ.

My prayer for you today that God would reveal anything in your heart that’s hurtful to others.

Many Blessings,

Connie Keyohara
