2 Corinthians 3:14-16 But the people’s minds were hardened, and even to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, a veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, then the veil is taken away.
Do you remember when you first fell in love? Colors seem brighter even though they are the same color. Everything seems more alive, more pronounced because love opened up the eyes of your heart.
I’ve heard it said that there is nothing more beautiful than a woman’s face when she’s in love. There’s a certain glow about her.
Being with our Bridegroom gives us certain kind of glow. Moses had to cover his face with a veil after he’d been with the Lord. (Exodus 34:29-35)
There should be something about us that draws others to Him in us.
Hebrews 9:3 Then there was a curtain, and behind the curtain was the second room called the Most Holy Place.
Hebrews 10:20 This is the new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us through the sacred curtain, by means of His death for us.
Jesus Christ, our Bridegroom, lifts the veil! When we come to know Him intimately the veil is lifted and the Word comes alive!
John 17:3 And this is the way to have eternal life-to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one You sent to earth.
Face to face, heartbeat to heartbeat, breath to breath…Him and you, one, Bridegroom and bride.
James 2:7 “Aren’t they the ones who slander Jesus Christ, whose noble name you bear?”
We bear our Husband’s name.
Hosea 2:19-20 I will make you My wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know Me as LORD.
Getting to know Him is a continual joy! I’ve known my husband, Ron, for 35 years and I just found out last year that he likes nuts in his cookies!
I learn more of my Bridegroom all the time…especially the depth of His love for me.
Isaiah 54:5 for your Creator will be your Husband. The LORD Almighty is His name! He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth.
Isaiah 61:10 I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God! For He has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit or a bride with her jewels.
Hosea 6:3 and 6 “Oh, that we might know the LORD! Let us press on to know Him! Then he will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.” “I want you to be merciful; I don’t want your sacrifices. I want you to know God; that’s more important than burn’t offerings.”
He wants us to know Him completely. He loves us no matter what. His love is unfailing and complete. His love is forever. His love is not dependent on us.
Hosea 3:1 Then the LORD said to me, “Go and get your wife again. Bring her back to you, even though she loves adultery. For the LORD still loves Israel even though the people have turned to other gods, offering them choice gifts.”
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord-who is the Spirit-makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.
After you have been married for a while in the natural, you begin to reflect each other’s mannerisms. How much more so when we spend time with our Bridegroom!
Song of Solomon 3:4 I have found the One whom my soul loves.
Let us bear His name with the honor and glory He deserves. Let us love as He does, wherever we may be and may others see Him in us. Amen and so be it.
