Why We STAND For The Flag
Do you remember the first time you stood for the flag? Chances are, you were standing with all of your classmates as your teacher lead The Pledge of Allegiance. You were probably taught the significance of the stars and stripes soon after. We were all taught that the 13 stripes represent the colonies we know so well from 1776. We remember learning how the red, white, and blue symbolized valor, innocence, and justice. But most importantly, we were taught to stand. Standing for our flag is more than just a symbol of respect for our nation: it is a symbol for what the flag represents.

We stand to honor and respect all of those who have fought and fallen to ensure our nation’s freedom. We cover our hearts to send love and prayers to the families of the 1.2 million Americans who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our nation.

We do not just stand to acknowledge our president, but to celebrate that we have the right to elect our president. As Americans, we stand together because of what unites us as a country, not what divides us. No matter how different our lives may be, we are a nation united in freedom, liberty, and honor.

We are the Land of the Free because of the brave and that is why we stand for the flag. It is not because we have to, but because we can! Even as children reciting the Pledge with our peers, we stood united as a nation, and that is something that will never change.

I thank God every day for the freedoms that we have to worship as we please,  and I am thankful that thru the shed blood of my savior Jesus Christ,I have a home in Heaven and that some day I’ll see my loved ones again.    Thank you Jesus for saving my soul.

Happy 4th of July everyone.
