Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.  Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.  Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.  For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

What Does This Verse Mean To You? By Karen Rowe

Dear Friends,

I come to write just for you to encourage you that the Lord loves you.

What does the Lord’s Love for you mean to you?

This week in teaching VBS, I am learning more about our confidence that is in the Lord.

How about you?  Are you learning?  Are you growing?

Or, do you need a little water and sunlight to burst up out of the ground that you are buried in?

May I encourage you that the Lord can do mighty things through you, if you don’t resist Him?

How can we resist God?  Can we?  Can we resist God?  How?

Let’s look to the Lord Jesus for our answers.  Who do you say that He is?

Take time to ponder who Jesus is to you personally; NOW, I ask you, who do you say that Jesus is?

Friends, you may be feeling one way, but God is working in another way.

You are not forgotten.  You are not abandoned.  You are loved well by the Creator God and by His Son, Jesus, who is the Christ, the Son of God.

Now, look again.  Who do you say you are?

Friends, the Bible says in 1 John 3:20 NIV, “If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.”

This week in VBS, we have been learning that God knows everything about us!  And, God wants us to learn more about Him.  God wants us to learn more and more about who He is!

Jesus, at 12 years old, was about doing the will of His Father (Luke 2:41-52) …

Don’t you think, “how about us?”  Shouldn’t we be about doing the will of our Father too?

But, let’s ZOOM into Jesus, and learn more about God in Luke Chapter 4, “And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost … was led by the Spirit into (WHERE?) ___ (What is your wilderness?)  Jesus, being forty days tempted of the devil…. (40 days in a row! being tempted of the devil)  … Do you think you won’t be tempted of the devil?  How did Jesus respond?  How must we respond to questions that come to (how we feel / how we think)?

Jesus responded, “IT IS WRITTEN!”

  1. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
  2. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
  3. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

And, don’t forget Luke Chapter 4:13, “And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.”

How must we respond to questions that come to challenge who we are to God, and based on how we feel / how we think ?   Are our feelings OF God?  Are our thoughts OF God? Or, Are you being tempted OF the devil?

Jesus had not eaten!  AND WHEN THEY WERE ENDED … “And in those days he did eat NOTHING; and WHEN THEY WERE ENDED, he AFTERWARD hungered.”  AND the devil said UNTO him, “IF thou be the Son of God,”

Really, the devil said that to Jesus?  Yes!  And, don’t you think that the devil will say that to you too?  “If you are a child of God, then you should never be hungry?”  Really?  NO!  We will go through difficult challenges that thoughts will come to us to challenge who we are!  BUT GOD!!!

Focused on Jesus, Jesus is the LIGHT (John 8:12)!  Jesus is the GOOD SHEPHERD (John 10:11)!  Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25)!  Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE (John 14:6)!  Jesus is the True Vine ( John 15:1)!    And, we are back to believing (John 20:31)!

Do you have that confidence alive in your heart?  Like if you were to sit, and drop a bouncy ball, do you believe it will fall (gravity)?  Do you believe it will bounce back up (faith)?  Do you believe in your heart this Absolute Truth? (CHRIST JESUS IS)!  Then you will trust the ball will do as you believe to drop the ball and discover also that you can catch it in your hand, because it is …!  So it is with our faith in God, through and by Jesus, the Son of God!  The Resurrection means more than Gravity!

Believe

John 20:31 Focuses us on the Power of hearing God’s Word to Believe!

31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Love One Another
19And by this we will know that we belong to the truth, and will assure our hearts in His presence: 20If our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things. 21Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God,…

How much do you believe God OVER how you may feel?  MORE than how you may think you did?  How much greater is God than who we are alone?  And HE loves us!

Let’s go deeper to understand that God is God; and he knows best; and directs us well and nothing we do can change the love God has for us!  Jesus died for us!  And by the power of the Holy Spirit, God rose Jesus from the dead!  This same Spirit of God is of a HELP to you and I in Christ Jesus, our Savior and Lord!

Do you believe?

“Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.”

“For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things (KJV 1 John 3:20).

Do you have Confidence in Jesus?

God’s love for you!

“Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God (1 John 3:21 ESV);

Prayer to God is Personal and God looks at and knows our heart!

Tell God what he already knows about you; and listen to God tell you about His love for you.

it’s who God is!

“and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight (1 John 3:22).

In Closing, it is on my heart to share this from yesterday.

We watched a Robin gather food for her baby birds in a nest that we could see their mouths awaiting!  She was so sweet, gentle and kind & she was in the environment.  And, it was God who provided the plenty of everything she knew was already there!

The Scripture of the Day’s focus was found written in Isaiah 40:31; and, later, I was asked, what does this Verse mean to me.  I didn’t answer that question until this morning; and now I would like to also ask you too, because of the blessing that I have received from answering this question, what does this verse mean to me.

what does this verse mean to me.

Isaiah 40:31 King James Version (KJV)

what this verse means to me

31 “But they” (-defined personally, what this verse means to me: I believe and trust God / willing to surrender my feelings to trust and obey what pleases my Father in Heaven and through and by the Name of Jesus, who qualifies me in the family of God and by the power of the Holy Spirit I am and I believe and I can do all God says I can “but they” “I” will face things in this world, but how we handle them is WITH the LORD … even when HE is quiet … I have the gift of FAITH in JESUS) “that wait” (“that wait” LOVE is PATIENCE and patience is strength, because God is LOVE and I believe God over all things in this world … including how I might be feeling in tests and trials : IE: Challenges to my faith) “upon the Lord” (upon the Lord defined to me: HE IS MY EVERYTHING; my strength and my stronghold, my light, my shepherd, my Savior and Lord whom seals me; and He is my Rock on which I won’t move … If God is WITH me, then I don’t want to miss what ONLY God knows / IF God does NOT want what I want THEN I don’t want anything to do with my thoughts according to how I feel. Usually I want the “escape” from the challenges that COME to my FAITH, BUT I know and believe that they are GOOD for me; better than Healthy food and exercise for my body … Good for the REAL me / the spiritual me) “shall renew their strength”; (YES, Old air OUT & NEW air in, like a balloon filled with air – when the JOY of the LORD comes; when I see what God already knew!!!! And we enter a NEW LEVEL of UNDERSTANDING as in the LORD we GROW) “they shall mount up with wings as eagles” (MOUNT UP with wings as eagles …. Lord have mercy, we learn HOW to soar ABOVE our troubles is WITH GOD knowing HIS POWER with us, for us and in us is MORE powerful than anything we might face); “they shall run, and not be weary” (Leaning on JESUS, we learn to MOVE at God’s speed. & and as a deer pants for water ONLY when being chased … we in Christ LEARN not to fear … there is nothing to fear, but fear itself and we who fear God RESPECT and LOVE GOD both know and believe God’s Word is IN us; as JESUS said, “DO NOT LET your heart be troubled. BELIEVE in God and BELIEVE ALSO IN the ONE who both died and IS Resurrected that in HIM there is no fear, but an attainable PEACE); and they “shall walk,” (in the shoes readied with the Gospel of peace, with a heart of God; according to our purpose / not stumbling in the darkness, but rather … as Colossians 1:13 so powerfully states: “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:”) and not faint (This too shall pass; and if that pressure is that strong against us, then we in the Lord; after our faith is knowing to have a heart pleasing to God can REST assured that in the LORD, we have overcome … that if the pressure is that hard to faint; then the devil is NOT happy, so ALL the more reason to PRESS on!).

This is what this verse means to me, I hope I typed this right, and even so, God knows my heart … as eagles soar above the clouds, so must our faith in Christ Jesus, Savior and Lord, whose Name qualifies us to have these kind of wings to soar … and the Gift of the Holy Spirit is the wind whom holds them … I believe. Love in Christ, Karen

Integrity in Christ Jesus is like a flower that blooms from a seed that knew who it was, before it could see – If a flower could see; yet God knows it to be.  It’s who you are.  How much more valuable are you than a flower in the field?  Fade not – It’s a spiritual thing!
