Thought of the day:

Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one. Reference 1 Corinthians 8:4 NKJV

There are people in our lives that we may trip, or cause to stumble, when we do things that they may deem unholy. Does it make them legalistic? Not necessarily, they may be at a different level of growth than we are.

Of course, the thing that we think about when seeing this passage, that we need to be careful about being a stumbling block. What we may not think about, is what could be behind that idol that was sacrificed to, that we are eating the food used for the sacrifice. We may not think about the demon that is attached to that idol.

This is a good passage to remember what we allow ourselves to be influenced by. What kind of teaching are we allowing into our lives. Think about the TV shows are we watching. Examine the podcasts or radio programs we are listening to.

Something to think on, this may be a reminder to not cause someone to stumble but, have we thought about how it could cause us to stumble? Are we making compromises in our lives that may seem minute, because, “We Are covered by The Blood”?

Yes, somethings may not lead to us to fall into sin, we still should examine why we feel we need to do something that may cause someone else to stumble. We need to be sure we are not setting ourselves up for failure. We shouldn’t compromise ourselves into sin. After all, we are reminded:

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. Reference Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV

If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.
It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it. We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already.
If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know. Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
