Thought Of The Day, “Soldier”, Men’s Daily Devotion

Thought of the day:

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. Reference 2 Timothy 2:3-4 NKJV

There is a good lesson to be heard here. Paul also mentioned about farmers enduring the work and athletes enduring to the end. When we look at this passage it’s important to remember that Paul is talking about that in our walks, we will go through hardships, that we need to be ready to go, despite what we endure. When a soldier takes a hit, a farmer looses crops, an athlete gets hurt, they don’t let that stop them. What they do is heal, train if needed, and find ways to adapt and overcome.

We are essentially part of the “Army Of God”. We will take hits because of the love within us. We will experience disappointment because others don’t grasp what Jesus has done.

What’s great about being part of this Army? We don’t have to do the battle. Jesus is The One Who fights for us and through us. We don’t have to “argue” the Faith with anyone. All we have to do is show Love and share our testimony of what He’s done for us. We live His Love through what we do in our homes, communities, jobs, etc.
As one of His Soldiers, we can expect disappointments but we can also expect victories. We just need to keep focused on Him.

Are you developing your Spiritual muscles by being focused on Him? Are you Trusting that He’s gonna take care of what battles we face?

Ask Him today to help you be what He’s called you to be, it could even be a better father, husband, employee, employer, etc. See what He’ll do through your willingness. And prepare for the battle ahead through prayer, study, and time with Him.

If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.
It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it. We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already.
If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know. Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
