Thought Of The Day, “Provisions”, Men’s Daily Devotion

Thought of the day:

When the wicked spring up like grass, And when all the workers of iniquity flourish, It is that they may be destroyed forever.
Reference Psalm 92:7 NKJV

What a great reminder of what those who focus on the wrong things will deal with. They have their “Joy” here, through the material things of this world.

Many times, when we are asking for provisions, we look around at those in the world, and we see how they have all these things. It can lead to us getting frustrated. However, we may forget that in lifting our requests to The Lord, that He’s gonna Provide the things we need. It also helps us to bring focus to Him, others see that He is our Provider.

We can think of when Jesus talked about the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man had everything he desired while he was alive. However, it was Lazarus who got the real rewards. Why? Because he built his Trust in and a Relationship with The Lord. He didn’t seek the treasures of this world.

Does it frustrate us when we are not able to help someone or pay a particular bill? Sure, but we need to ask Him what it is He is doing through this process. He maybe Growing someone’s Faith. He maybe keeping something back that would cause more damage than good. Through it all, we need to Trust His Plan is better than ours and keep seeking the Eternal Rewards.

Let’s be the example and Trust Him to Provide as He sees fit.

“I never remember, in all my Christian course, a period now (in March, 1895) of sixty-nine years and four months, that I ever sincerely and patiently sought to know the will Of God by the teaching of the Holy Ghost, through the instrumentality of the Word Of God, but I have been always directed rightly. But if honesty of heart and uprightness before God we’re lacking, or if I did not wait upon God for instruction, or if I preferred the counsel of my fellow men to the declarations of the Word of the living God, I made great mistakes.”
~George Mueller

If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.
It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it. We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already.
If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know. Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
