This morning we are blessed with another posting by Sister Connie Keyohara! Happy Easter Connie to you and yours!

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 91:10

Do you ever feel like your prayers are going unanswered? We all have felt that at times. We pray and pray and it feels as though You’re being ignored.

I want to share about a season in my life that I felt this way. The season was eight years.. yes, 8. I had a specific, urgent request and I assumed it would be answered swiftly. Much to my surprise it took a lot longer than I expected. In that time I cried, yelled, cried some more and even begin to doubt my beliefs.

I believe that the doubt came from the fear that I was also experiencing. Each day and month that led to the years were torture to my soul. I never stopped praying though. That’s the only thing I had left and prayer was my lifeline to God.

After 8 years and tons of prayer, fasting, intercession and counsel, and with my prayer warriors, I finally made it. Every night I cried myself to sleep and this particular evening was no different. I woke up around 2 am and it was bright outside like daylight, God spoke this Word to my heart, as clear as day…..

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and his healing will quickly appear. Isaiah 58:8

I was instantly released from my despair! That quick. I had no idea what was going to happen, but I finally, after 8 years felt hope.

The very next afternoon, my prayer of 8 years was answered. The joy and tears were long awaited. This has taught me patience and the importance of trusting God. And to NEVER give up.

When waiting on God to answer prayers, we must believe there’s going to be an answer. Not having that trust is the biggest obstacle to overcome while we wait. When we ask him, we should expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. James 1:6-7

There is only one place to go to for reassurance during hard times, and that is to the foot of the cross.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Many Blessings as you wait,

Connie Keyohara
