This is such an awesome post of encouragement! God Bless you Sister Connie Keyohara!

Have you ever wondered how God could use you to help others? Do you feel like you don’t have what it takes? Whatever your talents or gifts are, God is the Author behind it! He didn’t bless us with a talent or a gift simply so we could look good. He did it so we could bless others and fulfill the Great Commission.

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16

Sometimes God uses people and circumstances that we’d never guess he would. For instance:

Peter had a temper.

David had an affair.

Jonah ran from God.

Paul was a murderer.

Thomas doubted.

Sara was impatient.

Elijah was moody.

Abraham was old.

Lazarus was dead.

Don’t doubt for one moment that God cannot use you! He created us with eternity in mind. We do not have to be a Billy Graham in order to evangelize. All we need is a willing heart. No one, after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. Luke 8:16

Sometimes we let our past get in the way of our future. We tend to sit idle as life passes by. Maybe it’s something we’ve done that Keeps us in that bondage of fear. Some time ago I went through a very hard season. During that time I became dependent on alcohol. After a brief, yet damaging time, I started a 12 step program. At the time I felt ashamed. I felt as if my life of evangelism was over.

What I did not expect was that what Satan intended for evil, God used god his glory. In the months that followed I started a Woman’s Recovery Program. It went on for a few years. And because I had actually experienced addiction then recovery, I was then able to be a support for Women in my community.

God will always be there to help us up. He will use our experiences and trials to further his kingdom. Don’t sell yourself short! You’re his Messengers. He’s polishing your heart. Sometimes it feels like we’re being buried, when really,  we’re being planted. God will use this season to grow us.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28.

Trust him on this one,

Connie Keyohara
