This morning we are blessed by another post by Connie Keyohara! God Bless you and yours Connie!

Recently I watched a movie that was full of action. Our country was at war and they fought fiercely to defend us. They were amply prepared for battle. They had their gear on, the full armor! I was impressed at how well prepared they were.

Can you imagine going into a battle for the fight of your life and not being prepared? You’d get pummeled. It would be devastating to say the least.

This is what some Christians do, I’ve done it. We go into a battle and we’re not at all prepared. You wouldn’t go to war with bare feet or without the proper attire and you’d definitely not go without a weapon, correct?

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:10-11

When we prepare, a boot camp of sorts, we equip ourselves to fight the battle with the intention of winning it. Of Surviving.

Full Armour, prepare for warBelt of Truth: It is important in the life of a Christian. Without truth, the rest of the armor would be of no use to us because we would not have the Spirit of truth.

The Breastplate of Righteousness: It covers and protects all the major organs. The breastplate of righteousness has Christ’s name stamped on it and  We put it on by seeking God and His righteousness above everything else and it will be added unto us.

The feet fitted with the gospel of peace: Put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. And you can walk for miles.

Shield of faith:  A Shield is vitally important to a soldier, because it provides a blanket of protection. It is meant to be taken up in all circumstances.

Helmet of Salvation: The Helmet protects the brain, the command station for the rest of the body. If the head was injured or damaged, the rest of the armor would be of little use.

Sword of the spirit: The sword is both an offensive and defensive weapon used by soldiers or warriors. That would be the Word of God!

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

Sometimes our battles are short and quick, but sometimes they last for a very long time, either way it is our responsibility to prepare.

Know the Word of God. It will be what makes you or breaks you!

Hebrews 4, verse 12 says, “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”

God Bless you as you prepare,

Connie Keyohara
