Don’t Be The People of The In-Between-Egypt and Promised Land

Joshua 1:7-8 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” My thoughts this morning… Can you imagine God was calling Joshua to lead millions of ex-slaves to inherit their inheritance, and the most important equipment he gives him for the mission of a lifetime….. Was….. Read Gods Word!!!!!!!! Bam!!!! Yes Joshua had a Bible in his possession, it might of only been 5 books, but he had one, but it wasn’t enough for him to be in possession of The scriptures, God wanted the Scriptures to possess Joshua… So my question to all of you is this… What possesses you? The bible is the most important tool in our spiritual growth… God doesn’t just what us to just seek a goose-bump emotional experience.. The key to spiritual growth is not increased church attendance.. Most churches that preach truth don’t have many attending because most people don’t want to hear about hell and sin, about change.. Because it interrupts their lifestyle!! They want the prosperity only Gospel… I’m keeping it real … People don’t grow because church attendance grows, people grow because they read and trust Gods Word, they repent, change, and then spread the good news !!! You want to Grow in God? Step out into Gods church… The streets… Where the homeless live, the prostitute, the drug addict … Get out of the church building with the men in ties … Bottom line.. Only when you allow the truth of Scripture to be the authority in your life can you know whether it works.. The church offended people are the worst !! And I’m guilty of that !!! Look what Gods Word can do for those type!! This is Jesus speaking in Matthew 5:23-24″ If you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” Man if I hit a vein let it be mine first because it did!! If I apply Gods Word it will work… But I have to not forget and hit the saved button in my heart…. So my question today is this… Will you listen the voices of God today , or the voices of your crisis? Don’t be the people of the in- between – Egypt and the Promised Land that only listen to Gods voice to escape Egypt but forget his instructions to the Promised Lands!!! That’s what wilderness people do!! Gods command was enough for Joshua to lead millions into the Promised Lands.. Is it enough to lead just one for you? Yourself.. Or maybe a few more.. The Lost and bound… Begin with prayer, Great rewards come to those who do..Respond with Obedience to Gods Word not mans.. I end with this… I have no problem following a man… As long as I know who’s leading him.. That is all
