Taste And See…

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Yesterday, my granddaughter and I made some Christmas cookies and fudge. She was so excited as we packaged some for her to take home for her family. She ran to the bows and wanted to put them on the top. We talked a lot about Christmas and what it means. Although not quite 3 years of age, she loved to stir and kept wanting to taste as soon as she could. I would ask her where does Jesus live while we put the ingredients in the bowl. She would reply, in my heart. I would tease her and say in your liver and she would smile and reply no, in my heart.

While waiting for one batch of cookies to bake, she went in the living room and got my prayer box and took it down from the shelf. She opened the drawer to the small but heavy chest and pulled out a prayer card and brought to me. I inquired if she wanted to put a prayer request in the box. Ironically enough, the card had my Christmas prayer on it from a few years ago. I gave her a new card and she made some scribbles on it as she said a few names. Kids are so innocent and pure.

Every once in a while I would notice she would taste one of the Hershey kisses waiting to be placed on top of the cookies. She was anxiously waiting to taste after each batch as the cookies came out of the oven. I kept thinking about the scripture, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8.

Oh, so thankful that Christ journey’s life with us and lives in our heart. Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you for the innocence of children. We come to you today with childlike faith and believe you will lead and guide us every day by the power of your Holy Spirit. In Matthew 18 Jesus tells us when asked who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Father, thank you that you hear and answer the prayers of your children. Amen

Have a blessed day God’s beautiful people. Taste and see!
