Matthew 6:13 (NKJV): And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

Many people awesome that when Jesus laid out this prayer, and that when He got to this part, that He is saying to ask that God would not lead them into “sin”. However, that is not what He is saying here.

First, we need to understand that God will allow tests to happen in our lives. Why? So that we grow from them. He doesn’t allow them to happen so that we fall into sin, but rather that we learn to turn to Him in the midst of our struggles, so that we grow in our Faith and learn how He will walk us through. That is when Faith becomes predominate in our lives. Remember Job and what he went through. (By the by, if you haven’t studied Job recently, it is a good book to slowly walk through)

What Jesus is leading us in this part, is that He is saying we need to ask for God to Help us through. That we need to ask Him for Strength so that we do not fall into sin when we are going through a trial. God is Our Protector and Our Teacher. Remember, Paul said it best:

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (NKJV): Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

So that means God won’t test us beyond our limits and that He will Provide the way out of our struggles.

We should be praying for God to give us Strength through every day and every struggle. He will give it to us.

We will continue  be looking at the Sermon on The Mount. Although,  we need Jesus to bring us back into A Relationship with God The Father, The Sermon on The Mount deals with Heart Issues which is what we should look at when learning to have that Relationship with God.
If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.

It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it.

We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already. If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know.

Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
