Picture is of my Grandpa Floyd Caraway’s Farm 7 miles south of Windom, Minnesota. Grandpa Floyd, my middle name, and Grandma Lena farmed it for years. My Mom, Ruth, grew up on this farm. Grandpa gave me this picture in the late 70’s.

I grew up in Windom, Minnesota, great farm country, such a vital economic component of not only Windom, but the world! I still have family and friends working God’s green earth! My Grandpa Floyd Caraway farmed for years and years near Windom, so did my Uncle Wayne and now his daughter Barb and son-in-law Rick Nelson farm the land south of Windom. My brother-in-law Paul Rogers and my Sister Deb farm near Reading, Minnesota! I keep hearing and reading the problems farmers in America are facing….We are praying over all farmers at this time and that they all will be financially sound to go on for years and years. Some of these farms have been in these families for well over 100 years.

Eighty-four farms filed for Chapter 12 bankruptcy in Wis., Minn., North and South Dakota and Montana in the 12 months that ended in June, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. That’s more than double the number over the same period in 2013 and 2014.
