Our Dear Sister in Christ Darlene Quiring shares with us a post by

TaRanda Beene

Thank you for always blessing us Darlene! We love you and yours! TaRanda is such a AWESOME writer for our LORD!

If you’re on the fence about going to church tomorrow, let me encourage you.

Whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned attendee, just go.

It may not be the right music for you, be patient… next week will be different.

The speaker may not speak a sermon that is specifically what you need at that moment, keep listening… the Holy Spirit will have you know what you need to hear. You haven’t lived through Monday yet.

There may be someone there you just don’t like… greet them in kindness anyway. I’m sure there are things they don’t like about you.

Don’t focus on the dress you don’t like, or the hymn they didn’t sing.

Don’t focus on the fact that it’s missions Sunday & that doesn’t impact your life. Believe me, it does.

Don’t miss out when the speaker switches bible translations for a particular point he feels God would have him make.

And don’t be upset if you feel he’s just not preaching like last week. He’s human, too. Maybe his week was just as stressful as yours. But he knows his calling & is doing his best to be there for you.

Do go with an open heart.

Do go with an attitude of gratefulness.

Do allow the Holy Spirit to work in your heart, even if you don’t feel like He’s working in anyone else’s.

Do encourage.

Do love.

Do focus on what got you there… Jesus.

Don’t let humanity or the lack thereof keep you from something the Lord wants you to have.

And DO put money in the offering. You can rest assure the church needs it… no matter if they do spend it on the coffee shop.

But most of all… go to church because you want & need to hear from Jesus. I promise, if you go with the desire to hear from Him, you will. Even if the message is about being a good human. We can all use that message. That’s what Jesus wants us to be.

Remember you are loved right where you are. But if humans are being humans and treating you any differently. .. just know that at the end of the day, the best anyone is … is human. Forgive them too.
