“Dewey, You Keep the Spirit Alive for Christ!”

Pastor Dewey Moede received the following text message yesterday from Dustin Stevens of Windom, Minnesota. Dustin played the piano at the House of Hope in Windom this past August. Dustin is known as a superb piano player, he plays for the LORD! Dustin is also on the Windom School Board. His parents are Kevin and Lynel Stevens of Windom. Kevin was a running back for the Windom Eagles in the 70’s and Dewey was the equipment manager for Coach Ron Meyer and the team. Dustin’s grandpa, Everett Stevens was one of Dewey’s Sunday School teachers at the American Lutheran Church. As always, Dewey has such fond memories of his time in Windom, as he says, “Windom is where my Christian foundation was built, I owe that town a lot.”

Dewey loves the Stevens family very much. He remembers Kevin as such a nice man and he is very thankful that Kevin married his sweetheart Lynel.

Here is Dustin’s message…..

My parents and I think a lot of you. My parents shared some stories from back in the school days of the early 70s. They said God picked the perfect guy to do what you do in ministry. They said you were always kind and concerned that everyone was taken care of. Dad said you always made sure the players had what they needed and kept the team spirit alive. He said you probably had no idea the benefit you were to the team. We think God created a heck of guy in you and now you keep the team spirit alive for Christ! Praise the Lord for you and Sharon and your commitment to God’s work.

Thank you Dustin for sharing with us…..all for the Glory of God! May what we share plant a seed in someone that bears much fruit for the Kingdom of God, Amen!

This is not about Dewey, it is about challenging us to live our lives for Christ!

It is also about being thankful to all the people that have helped you along the way in your walk with Jesus! This is the main reason Dewey and the team have gathered now for 3 consecutive years to celebrate and share the love of Jesus at the BARC in Windom, all for God.

May we all know the work that God has assigned us to do.

I will close and just share that Dewey had an awesome, joyful talk with Coach Meyer’s widow Nancy yesterday! PTL!

Life Verse for Founding Pastor Dewey Moede:

“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” -Acts 20:24

Dewey also loves this verse so very much: Kind words are like honey–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. Proverbs 16:24
