FGGAM just received this news release from FCA:

Registration as Strong as Ever for Fellowship of Christian Athletes Camps, as Tens of Thousands Attend Worldwide

Upwards of 800 FCA Camps Convene This Summer in Nearly Every State Across America and in More than 40 Countries

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—It may be hard for many families to believe that Independence Day is already behind them. But it’s not too late for parents, coaches, athletes and teams to register for the hundreds of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA, www.fca.orgCamps still being offered around the country.

This summer, upwards of 800 FCA Camps in the U.S. and internationally will reach about 115,000 coaches and athletes, who will work on their athletic skills and team building while strengthening their faith in Christ.

Those who want to be a part of FCA Camps in July and August can find Camps by sport, day or location through FCA’s easy-to-use Camps site. Last summer, new attendance records were set as 113,000 coaches and athletes converged at 780 Camp events in 45 states and in 41 countries around the world, where 9,417 coaches and athletes made first-time commitments to Christ and 10,997 recommitted their lives to Christ. More than 300 Camps occurred internationally, and 4,000-plus certified instructors, Huddle leaders, staff, coaches and counselors helped lead the Camps. The 2017 attendance was an increase of more than 7,200 over 2016.

FCA Campers walk away from these events rejuvenated in their sport and refreshed in their faith, as evidenced by positive feedback year after year:

  • “FCA Camp made me rethink the choices I’ve made in my life and recommit my life to Christ. It has been the most influential thing that’s ever happened to me. Unreal. Almost speechless!—Henry
  • “FCA Camp made me realize how much I needed to accept Christ in my life. It has greatly changed everything in a positive way.”—Cassidy
  • “FCA Camp made me realize life isn’t about me, it’s all about God and giving Him the glory.”—Jacob

With the theme of “Strong,” based on the Bible verse 2 Timothy 4:7, Camp attendees will focus on the fact that believers serve a strong God, and how His followers are called to be like Him in every area of their lives—including sports. The coaches and athletes who attend FCA Camps will discover that polishing their athletic skills is important, but strengthening their faith in Christ is crucial.

For the immensely successful and popular Camps ministry, FCA takes the best attributes of both athletic- and spiritual-focused camp events and combines them into an athletic/spiritual experience like none other. Camps also remove athletes and coaches from the daily routine of their sport, friends/co-workers and community, and place them into an exciting, healthy, athletic environment that allows them to pursue their passion for sport and clearly see and hear Christ’s passion for them.
