Blessed Are…, Matthew 5:9

Matthew 5:9 (NKJV): Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

Do you know the difference between a peacemaker and a peacekeeper? Many do not realize but there is a difference.

A peacekeeper is someone who works between 2 parties, who have a conflict, trying to find a way to keep peace between them. They do what they can to find a way to try to silence a disagreement. It doesn’t seem like there is anything wrong with this right? Except, there is never a resolution.

A peacemaker is someone who works between 2 parties, who have a conflict, and tries to find a resolution to the problem. They are the ones who tries to mediate, looking for a solution, so the parties come to an agreement that works, so that there may not be a conflict again. Basically, they are mediators, or problem-solvers.

Is it any wonder why Jesus said “Blessed are the peacemakers”? When you think about it, He is a “peacemaker”, of sorts, between us and God The Father. He took our place, taking our punishment, so that through Him, We can have access to God The Father. There had to be a perfect sacrifice for our sins, so that our Relationship with The Father, could be restored. In a sense, those of us who are followers of Jesus, are called to be peacemakers. And according to John 1, only those who are believers in Jesus, can be called children of God, John 1:12-13.

Let’s be what we are called to be as Followers of Jesus. Let’s help others to see how Jesus will bring True Peace into their lives.

We will continue  be looking at the Sermon on The Mount, continuing with The Beatitudes. Although,  we need Jesus to bring us back into A Relationship with God The Father, The Sermon on The Mount deals with Heart Issues which is what we should look at when learning to have that Relationship with God.
If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.

It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it.

We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already. If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know.

Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
