Opinion: Pot is dangerous, not funny — a doctor tells us why
Fox News

No matter how much fun using marijuana looks like on TV or how many people tell you it’s harmless, remember one thing: unless you have certain medical conditions where the drug may be beneficial, you are better off without it. Read the full story

We all should be concerned where our Country is going……it is headed in the wrong direction….so much division, so much anger, moving away from Biblical principles. Our only true HOPE is in JESUS, not politics. Politics just keeps dividing the nation.

JESUS is our only hope.

Pray for America.

So many need JESUS, so many are looking in all the wrong places to find HOPE, JOY and PEACE.

True HOPE, JOY and PEACE are not found in drugs or politics, yes, if your not careful politics will be like a drug to you, you will lose focus on God.

This is from our Dear, Dear Sister in Christ, Dr. Michelle Bengtson:

In difficult times, cry out to the Lord. Cast your cares on Him. Hold on to these 7 scriptures that bring hope.

Have you ever longed to know that despite your faults and circumstances, you were worthy of being loved? That you were not alone? And, that someone cared?

I’ve often explained to my patients and their families that we all want the same thing in life no matter what our circumstances are. We want to be loved, to know we are not alone, and to be found worthy.

During a painful event in my life, I searched my mind for someone I could reach out to who understood my pain and could offer encouragement. My husband was out of town and not in reach of his cell phone. I called one friend but hung up when I reached her voice mail. I felt another was too overwhelmed with her own struggles for me to add to her worries.

Alone in the darkness, I cried out to Jesus. I just whispered His sweet name. There is power in His name. I didn’t need to tell Him all the reasons for the pain in my heart. He already knew. I just needed to give Him the pain. To cast my cares on Him. Then, trust Him.

I needed to take my thoughts captive – those lies the enemy had screamed at my heart- and exchange them for God’s truth.

7 Hope Filled Scriptures to Hold On To

  1. When I think that nobody understands my pain, I remember that God is well-acquainted with my sorrow. “He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain” (Isaiah 53:3).
  2. When I think no one could comfort me in my sorrow, I remember the truth that I serve the God of all comfort. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
  3. When I feel like I’m all alone in my pain, I exchange that lie with God’s truth that says He promised He would never leave me. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
  4. When I feel like I am not worthy of love, I choose to remember Jesus’ death on the cross made me worthy of love. “God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17 NLT).
  5. In all the battles we face in life, God’s word is our greatest weapon. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12 NIV). It changes everything.
  6. God’s word will not return void. Isaiah 55:11 says, “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
  7. God’s word says we are more than overcomers. “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).

When we turn to God’s word and hide it in our hearts, we can fight the doubts and unbelief, the fears, the pain, and all the lies the enemy screams at us. When our one source of support is Him, we’re on a winning team!

Will you turn to the hope in God’s word today?
